Day 4

I spent the entire night at home ALONE last night. No husband, no kids and no dog. Just me and the TV. That is only the second time I have done that since my first baby came along over ten years ago. Isn't that shocking!

So what does a 40 year old temporary bachelorette do with a night to herself? Well, besides commencing this blog, I went out to dinner and a chick flick with a girlfriend before hitting the sack at 10.00pm to read and watch TV, then woke up at 5.00 as usual ready for boot camp. Once upon a time I would have gone out drinking and dancing, but not anymore. I had enough drinking and dancing at my 40th party, and I am still recovering 4 days later. No need for drinking and dancing for another year now. The hardest part about last night was not going to bed knowing I was alone, but waking up at dawn to an empty house. It all felt so hollow. I felt kind of empty. But that lasted for a nano second and then it registered that the house was hollow and kind of empty and I went wooo hoooo, got the house to myself baby, yeah!

What is wrong with me? I had the house to myself and I gave it up for gruelling stair sprints, boxing and pushups in the icy wind. But I guess if you don't want to look like deep fried fruit at 40 exercise is a must! And that icy wind manages to freeze your jowls back in place so your face doesn't look quite so floppy and puppet like. So icy boot camp is good for 40 year olds and so is having the house to yourself occasionally.

Hubby, the kids and dog come back from their quick coastal escape in exactly 4 hours and 17 minutes. Shit. Time to get off this blog and run around the house naked ...

Ciao Ciao!
