Day 510

I'm a bit late for our cuppa today. Sorry about that. I had a slow start.  Mondayitis? Maybe.  But it's all good now. Been to the gym and I'm now sitting in my "home office" getting lesson plans together for cheer tonight. And contemplating re-"nairing" my face ....

When did my face get fluffy?  I actually don't remember.  Perhaps in my mid 30s? Maybe after Darby was  born. It wasn't always fluffy.  I didn't always have a covering of blonde hair down around my chin and neck area.  And of the course the random black chin hairs weren't always there ... they started coming in my late 30s, in the lead up to the  big 40.  That was a wonderful gift.

I was out at dinner on Saturday night and was deep in conversation with someone. She's around my age.  She has very thick luscious dark hair (naturally dark), with dark eyebrows, and long eyelashes. Where I have had to dye my eyebrows in and spend copious amounts of money on miracle mascaras, she has needed no help in that area. As we chatted I suddenly noticed her face. Completely smooth.  Devoid of hair.  Huh?! I wonder what hair removal system she uses.  So I stopped mid conversation and asked her ...

She looked at me blankly.  What the?

Sorry, odd question I know and completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.  But what do you use on your face? What's your system?

No system.  No hair to remove.

What?  Are you serious? You have hair everywhere but you don't have facial hair?  You are 40 this year but you've never had to wax, cream or pluck hair from your face? You have naturally dark hair, but no lady-tash? You've had two baby boys with two lots of testosterone surges in your system, but yet no facial hair?

Nope.

You bitch ...

She continued with our previous conversation. But I wasn't listening.  I was deep in thought.  I sat in my chair nodding in the right places while I tried to remember when my inner lion first came to light and my mane came in.  I don't know if it was a slow thing or an instant fluff-athon.  Can't recall ...

Yep, that was me Saturday night. On Crown Street in Darlinghurst. I was the woman in the far corner, pondering all things hairy .... stroking her beard ....

You're completely sick of me talking about facial hair, aren't you?! Ok. I'll try and stop. It's just got me so darn "fascinated" ....

My cuppa is finished.  Cheer outline is sorted. Emails are answered.  Time for me to say ciao for now. I'm off to de-fluff ....

  1. Yes I have fluff and the occasional whisker. I pluck the whiskers but am ignoring the fluff.

  4. That woman is a fibber.

I haven't sprouted the facial fluff yet, but can we discuss the very disturbing black hairs on the "ladies"? Around 25 years old I had one or two but holy crap when did all these other ones sprout up? I feel like I spend every day plucking hairs from my boobs!

Special attention is being paid to my lady-tash. I can tell it's on the way to rebellion.
