Day 511

I gave the cheerleaders a big spiel last night on belief. It's the first of our cheer values.  Belief in self, belief in each other, belief that anything is possible if you want it bad enough.  We talked about taking the word can't out of our vocabulary and inviting the Can Can Fairy in.  I did the whole "whether you believe you can do something, or believe you can't do something, you'll be right" speech.

Yeah, it was empowering.  Hell, it empowered me.

And then it was time to do dive rolls.

Can you do a dive roll Leanne?

No, I can't ...

I'm a bit old to be doing that ....

I did one once ....

I'm not sure I've stretched enough ....

My body isn't quite as flexible as yours ...

You know what kids, I can do anything I put my mind to.

Shit.

And with that I dived over a gymnastics wedge and went into a roll standing up at the other end.  I actually did it.  I didn't even fart in the process. I stood ... dived ..... rolled ... and stood again.  I'm not sure it was very graceful.  And I got some odd looks when it was over. But I did it ...

And bang ...  right on cue ... I immediately ended up with a massive headache.

I've still got it.

Pounding.

Time for the physio ....

Yep, believe and you will achieve.  Nobody promised the achieving bit would be pain free.

  1. Kudos for taking the plunge (or dive roll!) a bit of pain is nothing some panadol wont fix :)

  2. Hahaha, that's funny, but well done! Your body seems to be telling you it prefers to be upright (remember the cartwheel achievment last year -albiet followed by aforementioned headache also) Good job you.
