Day 602

Well yesterday didn't actually get a whole lot better.  Or did it?

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong.  Or had it?

Yesterday was a seriously grey and totally "jaded" kind of day. Or was it?

I know for a fact that we don't see the world as it is, but as we are.  So yesterday was less about the day itself and more about how I was reacting to it.  I know that.  But I'm here to tell you, that didn't make it get any brighter.

The more I talked to myself, and tried to conjure up a bit of "happy happy joy joy" the more my brain started to cloud over and the blues set in.

I left you yesterday having gone back to bed to start again to see if there really was anything to this whole "getting out of bed on the wrong side" thing. There's not.  It doesn't matter which side you physically get out, a shitty mindset is still a shitty mindset.  (Ohhhhh, they are talking about the metaphorical bed. Who the hell owns a metaphorical bed? Idiots)

After I left you and I got the kids and hubby out of the house I decided to cruise the internet to see if there was any movement on the Kidspot Top 5 blogger front.  I mean, I hadn't got an email so I assumed there was no winning 5 yet.  Coz, you know, they would have had to tell me of my win and all in advance.  My heart sank just a little when I discovered that there was actually a Top 5 and I wasn't one of them. Bugger. Sigh.  Mood darkens just a little.

Then I looked at my emails and discovered that one of my first ever competition cheerleaders had pulled out of the team.  Bugger. Sigh. Mood darkens just a little.

Then I found out there was another cheer issue going on which affects our squad as a whole at the first competition. Bugger. Sigh. Mood darkens a tiny bit more.

Then I get in the car to meet a friend for a well deserved cuppa and as I am self talking my way through my grey mood - "are you a winner or a whiner Leanne?!", "are you a victim or a victor?!" ... I decided on winner and victor of course - I forgot where I was going and drove about 10kms in the wrong direction! Well. That did it.

I burst out laughing ....

I laughed, and laughed and laughed and all was resolved.

Yep a complete mind switch.  The greyness started to lift.  Little by little the sunlight started to reappear. A quick 3 minute chair dance right there in the car to Pink's "So What" also helped.  By the time I got to my cuppa date I was on fire! Well, not quite, but I wasn't crying into my spilled milk.

We see the world not as it is, but as we are.    Nothing had changed.  All that stuff was still going on in the back of my brain, but somehow it wasn't upsetting me quite so much.

Thanks for voting for me and commenting on my blog posts over the last few weeks.  I am pleased to say that I am no longer sad about the Top 5 Blogger comp. I am now quite relieved that is one less thing to think about.  Onwards and upwards my friends!

Hope you have a great day!

Don't get out of bed on the wrong side or trip over your Ugg boots in the process.

Amazing how much laughter can change it all in a flash. Glad it lifted the fog and allowed the sun back in.
