Day 1022 - Vegas Buffet

Vegas would not be complete without all you can eat

Vegas is well renound for its huge buffets. Apparently the breakfast buffet at the Wynn is to die for, but with a line that wound around the world and back again, we chose instead to go to the Mirage.  We were not disappointed! For approximately $25 each you get everything you can imagine (plus stuff that would never enter your mind) as well as a never ending glass of champagne. Who needs three meals a day when you can eat just one that lasts for hours ...

I use the term "breakfast buffet" loosely because in reality it's a feast for all times of the day. I don't know what time it ends, but we didn't get there until midday and we left around 1.30pm so it must be open well into the afternoon.

It's a very multicultural experience with good ol' American bacon, scrambled eggs and pancakes, southern fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, as well as Eggs Benedict, omlets, Mexican breakfast burritos and other foods I can't pronounce. There are crab claws, seafood, salads, roast meats, soups, desserts and sorbet. During our eating frenzy I had Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Mexican, French and American foods.  I finished it up with some sushi and a big dollop of wasabi to clear my sinuses*.  It worked a treat!

I washed it all down with 3 glasses of champagne and a few highballs of water.  The others had Mimosas but on account of my sensitivity to oranges, I had to go the whole hog. Not complaining one bit. Splendid!

As much as I would like to hang around and chat I can't. Things to do, people to see, sleep to be had.  In fact, I am most excited because my bestie from Pennsylvania arrived this morning and given we haven't seen each other for 4 years we've got a lot of catching up to do! Plus a whole camera full of self photography to take ....

Talk to you tomorrow #DFFVegas.

* Yes, I still have the stupid headcold.  Too hot to be outside, but aircon playing havoc with my head when I'm indoors. I feel a little damned if I do, damned if I don't to be honest.  Oh well, just gotta make the most of it. Hoping the Wasabi has burned the cold and flu bugs to a crisp along with my nsasal hairs.
