Day 1143 - X Factor

And the winner is Samantha Jade!

The kids and I sat up to watch the X Factor live decider last night in a nail biting race to the finish. Well, probably not nail biting ... and not really a  race in the true sense ... but we were on tender hooks as the final three awaited to hear what their future entailed.  I can't imagine what they must have been feeling.  All I could think of was "I hope there's a toilet nearby" because I would have needed it if I was in their shoes. Far too many butterflies ....

Derek took a trip to the coast last night to see his folks (which means I didn't complete one of my "to-do-ta-dahs*"). So the kids and I ate dinner on our laps and then settled in for a night of X Factor and "playing hairdressers".  You know that game where you sit one behind the other and come up with innovative new hairstyles on the person in front. It's a great way to get the kids to play with your hair.

Back to the X Factor ...

The show was amazing. The effects, the songs and the overall energy.  I wish I was there!

We were totally bummed when our beloved "The Collective" got voted off in third place.  Tahlia and I are complete "collectors" with a huge bout of "collectivitis".  We are hoping hoping HOPING that someone sees their value and they make a record anyway.  Maybe  Rohnan could take them on tour with him when he and Brian McFadden tour next year?

You'll recall I had some personal X Factor favourites early on.  They included The Collective, Justin, Shiane and Carmelo.  Other than The Collective, I have to agree that the others got voted off at the right time for them. All three had reached their limits at the time they went.  It doesn't make them any less awesome in their own right, but having seen this week's grand final, it is clear the right singers were on stage this week.

Jason is just plain adorable.  You can't fault the guy for his spirit and heart. He is such a worthy runner up and I hope that he is picked up by someone in the country music industry here in Australia.  And those eyes!! You could get lost in them ...

And Samantha Jade is dynamite.  She is definitely a little pop princess with the voice, the moves, the looks, the clothes ... and the talent.  A very worthy winner.  Yeah, I was bummed The Collective didn't win, but when you look at the result and Sammy's popularity, she's going to sell albums. There is no doubt about that.  Hell, I'm off to buy her winning single right now ...

Congratulations Samantha!!  You deserve this ...

Just as a side issue, don't you think Sammy and X Factor Presenter, Luke Jacobz would make a lovely couple?  I hear he's single. No, there is no rumour .... just me being cupid.  They'd definitely create ridiculously good looking kids ...

* I  didn't personally do a lot of my to-do-ta-dahs yesterday.  FAIL!  Mum came over to work with me yesterday and she ended up doing the home learning with Darby and the load of washing. And I totally stuffed up what day it was coz Tahlia didn't even have cheer.  I didn't end up making cup cakes because Husband bought a tray of donuts.  But I DID do my grant application AND I got it in before close of business which is a bonus. Oh, and I also made soup.  AND I ordered the trophies for 90 kids.  Clearly I'm going to have to work harder on ticking things off in those other boxes ....  I have a whole new "list of balance" to practise with today ...

  1. I was rooting for Jason the underdog but your right I think he will get snapped up by a country style recording company and go great guns. Even my boyfriend commented on how long his eyelashes were lol! And the winner Samantha from my very own Perth, I hate to say it but her song is already stuck in my head after I heard her on the radio this morning ... la la done to me ... !
