Day 1798 - Captain America The Winter Soldier Give Away #DFFCaptain

Who'd like Captain America in their home?

Pick me, pick me, pick me! My all time favourite Marvel hero is Iron Man (bow to RDJ) but I must confess that Captain A comes a very close second.  Seriously, would you kick him out of bed if he farted?  Nope, me neither.

You can now have Captain America the Winter Soldier in your home.  The DVD version of him at least.

Chris Evans returns as the patriotic hero in the franchises' latest installment which was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 20.

We watched it as a family on Friday night and we were not disappointed.  It's got all the usual fire balls, car crashes and hanging off ledges moments that has your heart racing, but it's also got some super cool new special effects when it comes to the Cap's shield.  That thing can bounce like flubber!

So the story line goes like this: Steve Rodgers is working for Agent Fury (Samuel L Jackson) and they get caught up in a conspiracy within his agency's S.H.I.E.L.D while at the same time they are facing a new assassin known as The Winter Soldier.

With the help of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and new friend The Falcon (Anthony Mackie), our Captain has to uncover the truth with the lives of millions of people at risk.

Standard comic book hero kind of stuff.  The stuff that has you hanging off the edge of your seat.

And as I eluded to before - the ol' Captain is pretty easy on the eyes.  If I had my choice of super heros to invite into my home I'd go with Iron Man first, with Captain America coming in a very close second.

  1. Def Captain America - I love his earnestness. I read him as a kid and the whole propaganda aspect went over my head...

  2. I love all the Marvel heroes. Like you my favourite is Iron Man. Sarcastic, ironic and full of shit what is not to like about RDJ.

Capt America - A bit of a sissy by comparison. He's OK - sort of.

Best give the prize to someone who would really appreciate it.

  3. I got sucked into the Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D tv series this year and I can't wait for the second one to start. I really liked Mike from that series because even though he was controlled by Hydra, he still had a heart and he still wanted to do the best by his family.

  4. Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow would get my invite.

She has a dark history & I'm thinking that after a few glasses of wine the stories would roll.

Her fighting skills are second to none, so I wouldn't mind learning a few moves.

Plus she gets an A+ for being touch snarky.

  6. My husband would LOVE this. If I could invite a super hero it would be Superman because he'd be super fast at cleaning the kitchen afterwards.
