Day 1822 - Peppermint Tea

You all know I'm a big fan of green tea. But sometimes I want something different.  So my other tea of choice is peppermint.  It turns out that peppermint tea has some great health benefits too. From your head all the way to your toes, peppermint tea is one hell of a drink.



Peppermint tea is great for:


  1. Stress relief: The menthol in peppermint acts as a muscle relaxant. Drink peppermint tea before bed for a more relaxing and restful sleep.  But watch out! It may make you dream more vividly.
  2. Sinus relief: Any warm liquid helps clear the sinuses, but peppermint tea also has a natural decongestant.
  3. Weight loss:  Peppermint tea can act as an appetite suppressant making it easier to stick to some clean eating.  Blending green tea and peppermint tea together can increase the metabolism which makes it easier to shed weight.
  4. Clear skin: Drinking it can help with hormonal acne as peppermint can offer a slight boost in estrogen levels for some drinkers.  If you add peppermint tea to your bathwater it can sooth burns and rashes and other skin inflammations.
  5. An upset tummy: Peppermint tea is a great natural remedy for bloating and gas.  Trust me on this one - I've tried it.  Some days I wake up feeling a bit dodgy in the old tum tum so I switch from green tea to peppermint and I feel better in no time.
