Day 2071 - Cirque Du Soleil - The Beatles

My first Cirque Du Soleil experience.

For a long time I've hoped to have a Cirque Du Soleil experience but the stars have never aligned until now.

I was so disappointed to have returned from our Vegas travel last year without seeing a show.  This year I promised myself that I would see something with a Cirque involved.  Who knows when if we'll be back again.

There is so much to choose from!

Right now there's The Beatles, Zarcana, KA, O, Michael Jackson, Criss Angel, Zoomanity and Mystere,

I wanted to choose something that I thought the Husb would enjoy too.  It had to be music that he could jig along to (in case the body contortions didn't impress him). So it was either the Beatles or Michael Jackson.  A combination of ticket prices, location and availability helped us choose The Beatles.

The Beatles show is held at the LOVE Theatre inside the Mirage Casino. We chose to pay extra for premium level seating just because we may never do this again.  It cost us around $170 USD a ticket to be in the second row of Section 202.

We could have paid as little as $79 USD to be in the bleachers and now that we've seen the theatre this experience probably would have been just as worthwhile.  The theatre is set up in such a way that there's something for everyone. The show takes place all over that great stage area.  So there is entertainment all around you ... and up above you ... you feel as though you are surrounded by it.

We had a ball.  The Husb got quite nostalgic about it once the music started pumping through the theatre.

Of course the acrobatics, dancing and general stage presence was a key factor in making this tribute a success.  The show was colourful, artistic and a little bit "hallucinogenic" in places on account of much of the music used being from the Sergeant Pepper era.

Would I recommend Cirque Du Soleil? Of course.

Would I recommend The Beattles Cirque due Soleil?  Yes, for anyone that enjoys The Beatles music then definitely.

Would I do it again? I would! I don't feel the need to see The Beatles show again (been there and done that) but I would love to take the kids to see the Michael Jackson one.

Was there merchandise? There is a Beatles shop right outside the theatre.  We chose not to buy anything.

So that's my Cirque Du Soleil experience.  Any Cirque Du Soleil show is a "must do" if ever you're in Las Vegas.

What about you? Have you done the Cirque?

What show would you like to see?

  1. Yay to your first experience of a Vegas show and Cirque. I only experienced my first show recently via my blog and we loved it. Well and truly hooked on Cirque now.

  2. I love Cirque du Soleil - we go every time it comes to Sydney. We also get slightly worse tickets each time and pay more than we did the time before (were 5 so it's a hefty amount) but worth every cent, as it's something the whole family loves (we have a teen and a tot) and that is priceless these days!

    1. When we were there I was thinking how much it would cost to take a family. I think we'd be sitting way back in the bleachers for sure ...

  4. I had no idea there were things like a Michael Jackson or Beatles Cirque du Soleil! I'm very surprised about that. I think the MJ one sounds brilliant and I'd love to see it. I saw one many many years ago in my early 20s in fact. My friend and I drank too much before the show and as a result I can't remember any of it! :) #teamIBOT
