Day 2087 - Max Factor, Piping Hot, Estee Lauder, Sally Hansen

Things I'm loving this week.

The stuff that I'm loving this week is all about the makeup, nail polish, books, TV, food, exercise and my brand new Piping Hot cardigan.

You'll recall that I have a crush on my Thalgo foundation, but I've decided that perhaps I don't have to use it on a daily basis. Best save that for good!  Besides I'm finding that as the winter dries out my skin, it doesn't go on as easily as it did.  It takes a little more work to apply it.

So for easy application and a little more moisture, I'm back to using my Max Factor Skin Luminizer Foundation.  My colour match is beige and I love how easily it goes on and how soft and silky my skin feels.

I've also reverted back to my summer Sally Hansen favourite of "Kook-A-Mango" nail polish. It's a great colour that goes with everything and somehow manages to tone in with red, pinks and oranges.  It's an easy bright all rounder.

I've just discovered Max Factor Masterpiece Glamour Extensions mascara which I've been using this week.  It takes a lot for me to break away from my Cover Girl Clump Crusher mascara. I'm not loving the brush on this one as much (I'm used to the curled brush of the Cover Girl) but the consistency is nice and it seems to stay on all day.

I've also reverted back to my Estee Lauder Melon Shimmer lipstick to give me a summer sparkle and that added pop of colour (to match my nail polish and the pink in my new cardy).

On Monday I dashed out to Target to get myself a casual winter jumper for those days I don't feel like being all blazer or leather jacket. I fell in love with this Piping Hot "surf chick" hooded cardigan because of the melon tones.  I'm really feeling the whole melon and coral vibe right now.  I did pay full price which is totally against my shopping MO BUT it was only $40 so I figured that was OK.  I can still say I'm staying fit and fabulous while paying a fraction of the price.

From a reading point of view I am almost at the end of "The Soldier's Wife" and I am going to be so sad to see that little gem go. Set in Sydney during World War I, I've made a real friend with Ruby the main character and I am loving her energy, strength and the fact that she was a pioneer for women in Australia.  A story of love and loss and finding yourself, it's an empowering tale of how one girl had to take on a man's role in a time when women were not meant to have careers, but should stay home  to breed, cook and clean.   I would totally give this book 5 stars (I wanted to be more original with my reviewing system but 5 pieces of Deep Fried Fruit just doesn't sound very appealing).

On TV I'm enjoying tapping into True Tori via my On Demand option on Foxtel.  I know that many people feel uncomfortable about watching other people's lives, particularly those that are in turmoil.  But for those who have read me for a long time you'll know I have always been a Tori Spelling fan (I'm a 90210 tragic) so I find her current challenges very interesting and (dare I say it) somewhat necessary to see.  Because of her entrepreneurial mindset and her many different projects over the years I've really found a virtual friend in Tori because I "get her". I feel that I have no choice but to stick with her not just during the good, but also the bad and the ugly. But as I said, the show is not everybody's cup of tea.

As far as food is concerned I am loving my morning start of porridge with prunes, strawberries and seeds.  It doesn't sound overly appealing but it's so good to eat.  That with a green tea and I'm good to go!

Finally, I'm loving my morning walks with my daughter in the dark and fog of the Canberra pre-dawn.  To be honest there was no way I wanted to step out into the freezing temps but she pushed me into it and we're now doing it daily which is very cool (literally).  We walk 5km which take around 45 minutes and we don't stop talking the entire way.  It's bliss.

So there you have it.  What the Deep Fried people of the world are loving this week.

What are you loving?

    1. She's actually had heaps of TV shows of the reality variety, This current one is very intense though. it's the warts and all version which deals with the marriage crisis after Dean cheated on her.

  5. I love Piping Hot stuff! And Mambo at Big W. Good get. I also hate paying full price for ANY item of clothing but recently did in the same store. So cheap to start with - we're allowed!
