Day 2108 - Kerstin Florian Clarifying Exfoliating Scrub - Product Review

Need exfoliating?

I have to admit I am not much into clarifying or exfoliating or scrubbing.  I know I should do these things to look after my Deep Fried skin, but who has time?  Or the brain space to remember that these things ought to be done.

So when the PR company sent me the Kerstin Florian Clarifying Exfolioting Scrub I was delighted.  Since I don't own any sort of exfoliating scrubs myself.

I did stare at it for a long time though. I felt it was a little too posh to use.  You know that feeling of getting something so incredibly fancy that you don't want to waste it?

I guess the whole price thing threw me.  This gem retails at $99.  I don't even spend that much on a pair of shoes let alone a body scrub.

So yeah, I stared at it for a long time not wanting to break the seal or smudge the lid on this perfect little beauty item.

Then I got over myself and cracked it open.

Nothing ages us more than a photo of our hands.
Eeek!
The first thing I noticed was the smell.  The gloriously decadent smell. It's hard to explain the smell. It's gorgeously scented yet the smell doesn't seem manufactured.  Natural.

The other thing I noticed was the consistency.  It is quite grainy but in a non abrasive way.  Kind of soothing on the skin. You can feel the beaded texture but it doesn't scratch.

Now I don't know a lot about exfoliating so I have limited knowledge on products to compare this to. But I can say it's a whole lot nicer on the skin than the batch of honey and sugar I've made up in the past.  For a start it ain't sticky.

So here's the low down on the Kerstin Florian Clarifying Exfoliating Scrub:

  • It utilises natural jojoba beads to buff away dry skin and impurities
  • Botanical extracts of chamomile, geranium and sweet almond leave skin feeling soft, refreshed and even-textured (yes, that happened ... and those botanical extracts explain the lovely smell)
  • It promotes clarity and balance of the skin
  • It is SLS free and paraben free
Did you know that geranium oil promotes balance and clarity of the skin and is also antibacterial?  The fact that it has geranium in it is good stuff.

To use this product gently massage a small amount onto moist, clean skin and remove with a warm washcloth.

$99 will get you an 80ml tube.  If you want to spoil yourself ... or perhaps you have that sort of money to regularly spend on beauty items ... or maybe you're looking at treating someone special ... then definitely try this scrub.

Would I go out and buy it myself?

When I win the Lotto maybe .... (notice how I used the very positive "when")

But for now I will search for something a little more in my price range because now that I've exfoliated, I really like the feeling.

  1. Wow that is one pricey cream. I can see why it took a while to open it. Sounds beautiful though. Bron x

  2. I love the feeling of freshly exfoliated skin! But I'm with you... that is one pricey tube. It does sound nice (I'm off to photograph my hands now, just to see how they look)
