Day 2155 - It's time for tea

I'm interested to hear what's going on in your world.

I've been having lots of cuppa catch-ups lately.  I've made it a priority over the last two weeks to spend quality time with people I haven't seen for a while.  Not because I have to, but because I want to.

Usually my cuppas involve a meeting or a client session or the need for a result of some sort.  They're needs based.

Lately I have wanted to have tea and a chat. Friends, family, colleagues, ex-clients. Not because I've got something interesting to chat about, but because I'm interested.

I'm interested to hear what's going on in the world over and above my own family and business.

It's easy to want a cup of tea in certain phases of life, but when you're caught up in your own stuff (for me it's kids, projects and running a business), needs based interaction often over-shadows the want based kind.

I want to change that.

I want to stop.  Listen.  Hear. Reconnect.

I want to show people that I really am interested.

Are you interested in having a cuppa?

I want to hear what's going on in your world ...

  2. Yes. I'm trying to spend more time just being in the moment. Instead of saying "No, Mummy's busy" I've been trying to assess whether I can actually take 10 minutes out to read a book or help with Lego. It's hard though! #TeamIBOT

  5. I'm really craving a coffee catch up that doesn't have a pick my brain agenda attached to it. It's been a long couple of weeks.

  6. A friend & I have been meaning to have regular catch ups for ages now and we still suck at scheduling them in.

    1. You definitely need a cuppa then. The "moving away" cuppa would actually be a party wouldn't it?

  8. I enjoy catching up with friends too although I don't do it as much as I could or should. Right now I'm feeling tired and a little scared that Christmas is a couple of months away and I am no where near ready financially or emotionally for Christmas. x

  9. A great idea! I have decided that I need to spend less time on social media (scrap that, make that Facebook!) and get into the real world more. Being intentional about spending time with real and not virtual people is one goal!

  10. There's nothing like a two way conversation over a cuppa is there? I'm in the middle of packing and cleaning right now and I'm completely over it :( I'd love to steal away for one with you!

  11. Sounds lovely. I agree that there is so often an agenda or a busyness aspect to catching up - you can still have a nice catch up but it isn't quite the same.
