Day 2169 - Drink More Water

Drinking water can combat cravings.
I was going to write about the benefits of H2O in helping curb food cravings.  But then we got a new Prime Minister overnight and my brain got all filled with politics and government and heavy Aussie stuff.

Which has completely stuffed up my thought processes and made me hungry.

I could really inhale a block of chocolate right now.   And probably a bacon and egg roll.  With hollandaise sauce. Oh, oh ... on a damper bun!

Shall we get back to curbing the cravings with water?

It's simple really.  A US study has shown that by drinking 500ml of water before a meal we can consume 380kj less than if we don't drink water.  This can help us to lose up to around 2.5kg in the longer run.  Bonus!

So keep a bottle of water in your bag, at your desk or in your car to combat those cravings! An increase in water intake can also help with fluid loss, fatigue, skin, kidneys and bowels.

As for Tony Abbott, well I guess he'd like to steer clear of water for a bit given the possible H2O inferred headlines including "drowning", "hot water", and "goodbye budgie smugglers".

Happy H2O!

    1. I have completely got out of t that habit. Due in large part to the constant need to pee! But I will get back into the habit and see where it takes me ... (even if it is on a tour of every public toilet on the planet)

  3. I'll drink to that. Politics huh! Water is my daily drink and I find if I don't have it, I get a headache - a little like politics.

  5. I drink a lot of water. It's one of the only healthy things I do. I gave up vanilla diet coke 4 weeks ago and so my intake of water has increased but I have to say I'm really struggling without the caffeine / fake sugar fix every morning and I'm thinking of going back to it.

    1. Well done on the cleansing! Yeah, it takes a while for the body to cleanse. Green tea (with vanilla) is good. Takes a little getting used to but the vanilla flavouring helps. Very good for you ... and has that little bit of caffeine to get you started!

  8. I drink a lot of water but not usually before I eat. Might have to change that because I'm a big snacker!

  10. How funny - today I got back on the treadmill AND made a point of drinking water before every meal - need to bring my weight down a couple of kilos again. And here you are posting about it - what a coincidence!
