Day 2320 - The Lovin' Life Linky

What are you Lovin' about Life this week?

Welcome to the first ever Lovin' Life Linky!  Wahoooo!!!  Party, party, party.

The Lovin' Life Linky is a place to hang out, shoot the breeze and share the stuff that's making us happy this week.

Let me get us started!

Warning: This post contains parental bragging rights.

Lovin' being a mum.

I don't think of myself as being a mummy blogger as such, but this week I'm all about the mum stuff.

Comparatively speaking, I don't often talk about my kids in this space because (a) I worry about the digital footprint I'm leaving for them (b) the blog's about middle aged woman stuff and (c) they'd probably shoot me if I gave too much away.

But today I'm going to shout about them from the roof tops!

Firstly I'm super excited about our boy achieving his dreams.  Yes he's had some challenges which are likely to continue for quite some time, but he has so many strengths and those strengths are keeping him strong.

After dreaming about being selected for the Coerver Performance Academy (soccer) early last year he graduated from their six month program on Friday night.

He's come a long way in nine months from hoping he might get in, to not only graduating but being selected to join their under 12s team as they travel to Singapore in two months.  His first international tour!

Between that and the fact that he also got selected for his club's Development Squad and asked to join the High Performance Program, it's wonderful to see that his hard work, dedication and passion for his sport is paying off.

Seeing this kid happy makes me happy.

Secondly I'm loving watching my daughter grow.  She's now in year 11 and choosing very grown up subjects like business, tourism and behavioural science at school.

She's taking charge of her own health and fitness, as well as getting involved in a few "saving the ocean" type organisations.

She's happy about her modelling endeavours and right now she's helping her dad choose a new car (which they will share).

What I love most about being a mum to this teen is actually spending time with her.  She's a pleasure to be around and for some reason she still seems to be happy hanging out with her family.  That warms my heart.

Seeing her happy makes me happy.

Of course being a mum isn't always easy.  There are definitely loads of challenges and fears, but right now I'm focussing on the good stuff and I am loving it.

I know it's probably a no-brainer, but ...

Being a mum makes me happy.

So what's making you happy this week?

If you're a blogger then feel free to link up a post that reflects what you're lovin' about life.  It could be a moment, a picture, a conversation, some food, a product, a dress, a hobby, an event, a place, a memory or a person - it's all about reminding ourselves what's good in our world.

All bloggers are welcome! Fashion, food, beauty, business, personal, parenting ... whatever ...

If you're not a blogger, then this is a great opportunity to click on some links and see what else is in the blogosphere.  You might be able to add a few sites to your reading list! So much to love ...

  1. I love reading your perspective on being a mum, Leanne! There are challenges all along the way but reading about your relationship with your children and how you've dealt with the ups and downs together gives me strength to face the toddler years. It gets easier in some respects and harder in others each step of the way.

    1. Awww, thanks SSG. You fall in love with your kids the moment they are born. It's unconditional. But I love that every day I get to spend with mine I actually like them more and more. I'm sure you're feeling the same with your little man.

  3. It's so lovely to hear your positive attitude towards parenting Leanne. With everything we parents have to juggle, we sometimes inadvertently focus on the negative and overlook the positive. Thanks for reminding me to enjoy the good things. By the way - I'm happy to be your first linkee! Yay! :-)

    2. You're welcome! You can delete my double up comment if you like - I had a technical issue and I didn't think the first one went through, so I wrote it again, duh!

  5. Sorry guys, Lyndall this has been happening too many times for me lately. Thanks so much Leanne. It has been an issue ever since WP decided to 'update' how to cut and paste from the backend. Denyse

  7. Awesome idea for a linky Leanne! I am definitely going to try and get on board with you. I used to do my One Perfect Moment posts on Mondays and I miss those, so I might have to move them over to a Sunday and get back in to doing them so I can link up with you!
