Day 2383 - The Lovin' Life Linky - The ability to travel

How lucky are we that the world is so small?

Whether it's a quick trip to the coast, a drive to the snow, an excursion to the Big Smoke or an overseas adventure, if there's one thing I love about living in the 21st Century it's our ability to travel.

Clearly I've been travelling a lot.  Hell, if the truth be known I'm feeling like a full on travel blogger right now. So much so that I've even stolen the #travelblogger hashtag.

But regardless of whether it's Aruba, Singapore, the NSW South Coast or Sydney, I'm just happy we have the ability to explore the world outside our immediate sphere.

Moving outside our comfort zone is such an important part of aging positively and travel pushes those boundaries to enhance our self awareness, understand our place in the world, add to our life lessons and contribute to our overall growth.

Travel gives us focus, perspective, freedom and knowledge which all lead to fulfillment, memories and continual advancement.

Three cheers for travel and for the fact the world really is getting smaller.

What are you lovin' about life this week?

If you're a blogger then feel free to link up a post that reflects what you're lovin' about life.  It could be a moment, a picture, a conversation, some food, a product, a dress, a hobby, an event, a place, a memory or a person - it's all about reminding ourselves what's good in our world.

All bloggers are welcome! Fashion, food, beauty, business, personal, parenting ... whatever ...

If you're not a blogger then feel free to use the #lovinlifelinky hashtag to tag instagram photos or tweets about the things that are making you smile.  You can also click on some of the Lovin' Life links below and see what else is in the blogosphere.  You might be able to add a few sites to your reading list! So much to love ...

    1. Travel is definitely a priority in our life. Even if only a night at the coast. Always something to look forward to.

  3. I haven't done much travel for ages but I did a lot in the 90s as I also worked overseas then. I had to travel for work and got a bit sick of hotel rooms and was desperate for normality. I kinda stopped travelling when I came back to Oz, but I'd love to go to Italy. My antipathy now is a result of finances and feeling really self-conscious about my weight I think...

    1. Yeah, if you don't feel good about yourself then it inhibits many things, but then again, stuff like travel helps to get those good chemicals flowing to help you start feeling good again. It's one of those swings and roundabouts things I guess. Great that you got to travel so much when you were younger though. Nobody can take that away from you ... what great memories.

  4. This is a timely post...and not because I am considering travel but because of the low prices I am seeing offered by a number of airlines! Return fares to various places that are really really cheap. I do want to have some more travel experiences and I have solo-travelled mostly since my hub became too unwell to enjoy the discomforts. In fact, I actually enjoy just pleasing me!! I traveled OS to USA mainland - LA, Las Vegas and SF and Hawaii back in 2006 and it was fine. Mind you, if I ever do go OS again, it will be at least in premium economy and would most likely be to visit the land of my heritage - UK. Hope you are enjoying the ANZAC day long weekend. I have a treasured memory of attending the Dawn Service at the War memorial some years back. Denyse x

    1. I travelled the USA on my own when I was 21. It was where i really "found myself". What a great trip. We're still in Singapore and won't arrive home until well into ANZAC Day so alas I will miss the Dawn Service. I will have to pay my respects from the air ...
Thanks for joining in the linky again Denyse!

  5. The world feels a little out of reach for me with young kids. I know many people travel with little ones but for now I am happy with beach trips locally. I am sure we will make a big trip later in their lives though.

  8. Talk about super late to the party! I got my post all scheduled last night, and then today I totally forgot I'd posted because we were at Mum's to celebrate my step-Dad's birthday!

I love travel too, I just do not get to do anywhere close to as much as I'd like!
