Day 2394 - My Mother's Day Must-Haves

Need some Mother's Day inspo?

An empowering book such as Tara Moss' "The Fictional Woman"
A movie voucher to a premium lounge experience
A functional suitcase with the promise of travel adventures ahead.

My Mother's Day picks for this year are a combination of beauty, entertainment, fashion and pampering.

I'm not going to preach about where to get this stuff for the lowest price or why you or your mum might need it, I'm simply here to give you some ideas if you're stuck.

Some of my favourite things of the mo that might help you choose some gifts for your mum.

Skinny jeans from Esprit (choose your waist size and leg length for the perfect fit)
Nivea Q10 Plus Replenishing Pearls facial cream
A lovely soy candle from Dusk

Choose a red Max Factor lipstick from their Marilyn Monroe range
Grab a great cost effective snuggly poncho from Rockmans
Spoil mum with some cleansing milk or an exfoliating cream from Thalgo

Find some lovely handmade fudge like this one from the Kangaroo Valley Fudge Shop
Perhaps some handmade goats milk soap like this one from Etsy
Or a thought provoking magazine that nurtures the ageing process like Mindfood.

They're my picks for this year!

Happy Mothers Day and happy Mothers Day shopping.

PS If my kids and hubby are reading this then I seriously need a new suitcase.  I know, I know, I only got one two years ago, but it's already beat up and it sucks as a suitcase.  I mean, as soon as I overload it with my shopping for my return trips it falls over! What sort of suitcase is that?! So any new suitcase needs to be capable of wearing one of those "heavy" warning tags.

  4. I laughed about your suitcase tipping over. I had one that was badly designed with wheels that were no longer centred once you filled the outer pocket. It was a complete nuisance tipping over and we often forgot about this. Just like the time the metal handle fell onto the highly polished boot of my brother-in-law's brand new Mercedes. Oops... I hope you get your knew one!

    1. That's exactly what my suitcase does!! It's a very beautiful suitcase, but the moment you use the "expander" component it tips. Has fallen over in all sorts of places ... and on all sorts of people ... and my son fell over it ... in all it's beauty it's just not a good look. Completely defunct.

  6. My mum's in her 70s and doesn't really want or need 'stuff' so I'm struggling a little. I'll spend time with her and get a card etc... but not sure what else as yet.

    1. My grandmother is tricky like that, which is when we buy asomething like movie tickets, soap or fudge.

    1. She is a very empowering lady. I have given the book to the model daughter to read - especially the first few chapters - so that she can be as alert as Tara when it comes to the sharks and parasites.

  9. Fudge, yum! I've been thinking about getting some, plus some truffles. I'm not sure why I'm having these cravings, #notpregnant lol.

My son used goat milk soap (the liquid one for the bath) when he suffered from eczema. I totally recommend the soaps.
