Day 2432 - The Lovin' Life Linky - Sunday movie edition

Happy Sunday everyone!

It's damn cold here in the Aussie capital and with a long weekend at our disposal there's so many wonderful indoor adventures we could go on.

There's the National Portrait Gallery, the National Museum, the War Memorial, the Art Gallery or a tour of the highest law court in the land.  Heck, we could even head to Questacon, the National Library, a trampoline centre or spend some time at the movies.

But nah.  I'm thinking we might just love life within spitting distance from the house today.

The daughter has study to do for exams next week.  The son has a mate coming over.  The hubster has yard work and EBay to potter with.  I am thinking I might try and get a pedicure to get my toes ready for our Vegas trip next week.

Mostly though I am thinking I'd like to spend an afternoon watching chick flicks.

One of my favourite winter things to do is to hide in my bedroom with a cup of tea, fluffy blanket and the Foxtel remote scanning for mummy-movies that nobody else in the family would be interested in.

Over the last month I've watched a few movies that have largely flown underneath the radar.

Did anyone else just get a 1988 flashback of Underworld? Underneath the Radar.  #bestsongever

Sorry, back to the movies ...

Here are a few movies that I've discovered in recent weeks which you might like to add to your pile of weekend flicks. I've thoroughly enjoyed every one of them for different reasons.

Here's the world's quickest summary:

  • What We Did On Our Holiday: A movie about family flaws, death and the incredible bond between children and their grandparents.
  • Jenny's Wedding:  Love, acceptance and the right of all people to marry.
  • Laggies: A story about taking your time to grow up and not just settling.
  • The Rewrite:  When being a writer can be so much more than simply getting published.

As it turns out I haven't really moved on much since my last Lovin' Life post. Sunday movies snuggled under a rug with a heat pack and a warm beverage is what I'm lovin' about life right now.

I promise that next week it will be a vastly different story. Because what happens in Vegas goes straight on the blog!

What about you?

What are you lovin' about life today?

All bloggers are welcome! Fashion, food, beauty, business, personal, parenting ... whatever ...

If you're not a blogger then feel free to use the #lovinlifelinky hashtag to tag instagram photos or tweets about the things that are making you smile.  You can also click on some of the Lovin' Life links below and see what else is in the blogosphere.  You might be able to add a few sites to your reading list! So much to love ...

  1. I don't really do chick flicks - I never see them at the movies. I do get them out on dvd but then i hate them. I'm much more an action chick. Infact, for my next girls night in, I got out RUSH - I love that movie. Daniel Bruhl is so awesome as Niki Lauda. Today I'm off to Dory. Whoohoo!

    1. Dory! Yes please. I like a good action flick too ... as a family ... but chick flicks are something I love to have all to myself.

    1. Will do! Although not sure I'm too clever at kooky. I'm fairly vanilla. I'll try though! Just for you.

  3. I am glad you are snug. It's cold today here on the coast too and our air con broke down on Friday..just before the long weekend so Bunnings did well out of us buying a few heaters. Anyway you are right to stay home and chill (oops warm!) and get ready for your next trip away. Vegas is one place I have been. it was a unique experience alright! D xx

    1. Oh bugger about the heating. Our heating is also on the fritz which is not good. Not good at all. Keep an eye out for my Vegas posts. You may recognise a few things!

    1. I am actually feeling like a jet-setter this year. A bit spoiled, that's for sure. I'd better make the most of it. I doubt we'll be using our passports next year after all the trips we've had in 2016.

  6. It's still been pretty warm here in Qld. My car was parked outside somewhere yesterday and was 30.5C when I got into it. Cooled down to 25C eventually.

I hope to catch up on some book reviewing and blogging today!
