Day 2544 - The Lovin' Life Linky - Pack your bags edition

My bags are packed and I'm running away ... again.

Despite the pain I chatted about on Friday and the stench I gagged over yesterday, there's still a lot to love about life.

Firstly I'm lovin' that we managed to find a new forever home for one of the three dogs we've been caring for.  A classmate I hadn't seen for 30 years took Rupert last Tuesday and her entire family has fallen in love. I'm so happy that I managed to connect a wonderful family with a precious fur baby and that he's now getting the one-on-one doggie-human attention he was born for. We'll be visiting him in two weeks just to touch base and make sure he's happy, they're happy and we're happy.  But for now I get to share his new life via Facebook.

Could this boy be any more handsome?

Secondly I'm lovin' that my daughter got her P's! You'll remember last week I was very worried about my baby growing up.  Bugger that. This baby is now doing half my errands and taxi routes for me which is FANTASTIC!

The moment she passed her driving test.

Thirdly the doggie reconnection I made with my classmate has now led to the organisation of a 30 year school reunion for next year.  Of course "led to the organisation of" means I'm project managing it. But with the wonders of Facebook all it took to get it started was creating a Facebook Group to open up discussion.  Already 50+ people have managed to agree on a location and a weekend.  Great start!

Marian College Goulburn - yes, I survived being taught by nuns.
Finally, I'm lovin' that it's now my birthday week and my husband has organised another family junket.  We're off to the Gold Coast for three nights with thanks, yet again, to frequent flyers.  So with that said I'm off to finish packing and get my work finished and the house sorted before we head to the airport.

What are you lovin' about life this week?

  1. I'm glad you've found a home for one of the dogs and he's settling in well.

And a trip to the Coast sounds lovely. I was comparing the temperatures (Canberra vs here) yesterday and we were almost 20C warmer! Hope the weather is fine for your visit (this time!).

    1. She's definitely lovely the freedom a set of P's can bring. I'm so grateful she's so sensible. I really have little to worry about.

  4. Oh man, we just picked up our new car on Friday - a Volkswagon Multivan...so that I can fit all the children into the car in their car seats. The time when they will be able to drive themselves around seems to far away. The time when they are able to buckle themselves into the car seems such a long time away....

    1. Three cheers for a multivan! We've got the Kia Grand Carnival and I only have two kids. But why buy a 5 seater when you can have 8?

    1. It was Lady of Mercy! Wow, so long ago. It's now combined with St Pat's College and called Trinity.

  10. WOW, so much going on. Firstly happy birthday. Secondly can I pack my bags and come with you? My birthday didn't exactly go to plan. My daughter collapsed just before our exclusive high tea. She was out for the count for a couple of minutes. Mixture of low blood pressure, dehydrated and possibly also to do with heart murmur. Medics were amazing and she is home doing ok now but I'm a nervous wreck.

I want a do over for my birthday.

    1. I was so shocked when I read your post. You poor things! I'm so glad she's OK now. You just can't catch a break, even on your birthday Raych. Can you have a do over? You should totally have a do over. Just choose another date and declare it your birthday.

  11. The answer is no. That boy could not be any more handsome. And I wish I was in Australia so that I could adopt one of those dogs!

    1. Thanks for joining in. He is definitely a cutie. Him finding a new forever home is obviously bitter sweet. We miss him ... but he's gained so much being with a family that can give him their undivided attention.
