Day 2695 - The Lovin Life Linky - Hello March

Did someone say it's autumn already?

According to the powers that be it's now autumn. We all know that autumn doesn't actually start until around 21 March, but because we Aussies need to keep life simple, we just commence our seasons on the first of the month and be done with it.

Which is why 1 March may not actually feel very autumnish.  What it does mean though, is that it's getting close.  Very very close.

So, 1 March signals autumn and it also means it's World Compliments Day (thanks for the heads up on that one Middle Aged Mama).

Which got me to thinking about the rest of March and all the things there is to love about life.

For my fam there are a few things to look forward to.  The model daughter heads to Hong Kong for a few days with her grandparents to visit my cousin.  My boy actually gets a month off soccer as he's graduated from Coerver Academy, finished indoor and is currently between seasons.  My book release party is in a couple of weeks. The hubster celebrates his birthday.

For Canberra it also means it's festival time.  March is Canberra's birthday month and in true capital city style, we celebrate in a big way with the Enlighten Festival this weekend, a long weekend the following weekend and then Skyfire the weekend after.

The big grown up step daughter commences treatment this month for yet another sarcoma, and while that may not seem like something to look forward to, from her point of view she's just damn happy to get the whole thing started given it was diagnosed back in January.

As far as junkets are concerned we don't have a lot of travel planned for this month, other than a few days at the coast for the Canberra Day long weekend (weather permitting) and the odd picnic or art gallery visit.

What I'm loving the most about March is the sense of peace it's bringing me.  Opening the diary to a relatively blank week means I can really concentrate on the things I want to achieve and have the odd cuppa with friends.  It also means I can focus on my wellness and getting back to being fit and fabulous.

What does March mean for you?

What have you got to look forward to this month?

What are you lovin' about life today?

For one member of Team Lovin' Life, March means taking a bloggy breather. Debbish has decided to tone things down a bit and just stick to her book reviews for a while as she takes her blogging time to concentrate on other things.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Deb for supporting the Lovin' Life concept and her Lovin' Life dedication over the past 4 months.

  5. I'm glad it's March with a view to cooler weather more than anything. I like reading that you have gaps in your planner which may allow for more 'being' and less 'doing'. Happy Thursday.

  8. Yes I think they should change the seasons to suit our climate. It is still 30 degrees here on the Gold Coast and apparently there is no relief in site. I can't exactly imagine any autumn leaves forming this month! Same goes for school terms. They send the children back to school at the hottest time of year. March for me means more freedom as I have given up one of my part-time writing jobs. I'm hoping to focus a bit more on me, getting myself well and also on fostering my blog and freelance writing. :)

  11. I love the subtle changes to the season in Queensland, Leanne. The days are gradually getting shorter when I run early in the mornings there is a crispness in the air which I love after the heat of summer. Our days at the moment are still quite warm but the hint of autumn is there. I love this time of year. Sounds like you have a lovely March planned. I have an International Women's Day run and a course on Essential Oils but other than that it is a pretty free month for us as well. Enjoy your month!

  12. March for me means going to see Adele in concert and hopefully some cooler weather! It's also one of the rare months where we have no family birthdays. I'm pleased to hear you have a bit of breathing space in your diary this month! #TeamLovinLife

  18. It is so fun to "communicate" with you guys who are around the other side of the world. Because here in the US we are getting excited for spring.
I'm one of those that loves each season for it's distinct offerings, so hearing you talk about fall, makes me smile!!

  20. I always giggle to myself when I read your posts that mention seasons. Because March means spring to me! It also means sorting out less layers (hopefully!) and the clocks going forward. Love that I get a slice of your 'down under life' from reading your blog! Enjoy those Canberra celebrations and the odd cuppa with friends :) Thanks for hosting #LovinLifeLinky
