Day 2751 - The Lovin Life Linky - Autumn Leaves edition

Forget the red carpet, ours is yellow.

Autumn well and truly hit us in Canberra this week with wet weather, falling leaves and zero degrees at dawn today.  My backyard looks like the trees thew up in it.

Given it's so wet we can't rake, sweep or blow, so for now I just have to stare out the window and look at the yellow carpet nature has given us.

There's a very large part of me that feels like swearing - particularly when the kids and dogs bring the wet leaves into the house on their feet.

But really,  what's the point in getting annoyed when it's a sign of nature at its finest.

So as the trees shed and the weather turns cool, I'll be looking at it in wonder and awe rather than in annoyance and self pity.

For as long as I can anyway.  Then I'll probably start swearing again.

Has autumn hit your part of the world?

Anyone else got a yard full of leaves?

What are you lovin' about life this week?

  6. I miss Canberra autumns - for exactly that reason. I curse the leaves when they're wet & slippery and love them the rest of the time. #TeamLovinLife

  7. I went to Sydney yesterday hoping to see some splendid Autumn trees in Telegraph Road Pymble and they were not fully displaying yet!! However, the good weather for me to be on the road back to the Central Coast lasted till I was safely home, then came the storms and the rain. Looks like we are really on the way to winter now.

  8. Beautiful, in WA we don't get the real Autumn colours. It is still pretty warm over here.

  10. In our last place we had a swimming pool and every year those darn leaves would drop, the rain would wash the Summer's dirt off the rest of the tree and its remaining leaves and the pool would need cleaning and scooping and filtering and...... The leaves are gorgeous to look at but a definite pain to clean up.

  12. Oh I know it might be annoying when it's walked in on shoes but Leanne it's beautiful! We don't get that much here in Brissy! It's not cold here yet either. I guess mid to high 20's during the day - even up to 30 some days. A cool change is meant to be coming. Can't wait! I wanna visit your place!! I love cold and I love autumn leaves! :-) #TeamLovinLife

  13. I do love the autumn leaves, but they're not all over the floor of my house :). It's supposed to be very cold here tomorrow morning, but it won't be down anywhere near zero. I did think of you when I saw the temps on the weather report xox :) #TeamLovinLife
