Day 2772 - The Lovin' Life Linky - The Board Games Edition

What's your favourite board game?

Today I thought I'd get back to basics and give you board and card games.  At least once a week we've been having family tournaments with Uno, Connect 4 and Trouble.

There's a lot of screaming as we race around the Trouble board; there's head in the hand disbelief during Connect 4; and many bad attempts at a poker face during Uno.

It's what I'm lovin' about life this week.

Do you play board games?

Any other Trouble, Connect 4 or Uno fans out there?

What's your all time favourite board or card game?

  1. We have the Marvel Superheroes version of Monopoly and Mr 9 is obsessed with it! Sometimes we play on Sundays and the game goes for the whole day!

  2. Trouble was a staple in our family when I was a kid - I loved it! Mum was a big fan of Scrabble - and she was very hard to beat! Monopoly is still a fave for us, but I don't like the new game with the swipe cards etc. I'd still rather use the old paper money :)

  3. All three of those games are on high rotation in our household. The kids also love playing Monopoly, Topple, Yahtzee & Twister! Yes, we're a game loving family!

  5. I am so not a board games person. My eyes tend to glaze over & I deliberately lose so it can finish. Having said that, our annual trips to Eucumbene have always involved hilarious evenings of Balderdash and Monopoly. #TeamLovinLife

  6. I'd say we play Cards Against Humanity most often. I even printed some blank cards and made up some questions/answers of my own for fun (some blogging, some quotes from TV shows, stuff like that).

  7. I am not into board games but don't mind a game of cards. These days though that tends to be solitaire on the iPad. We had board games when our kids were young and there were far too many fights. Everyone wanted to be a 'winner'. Sigh.

  8. Not really these days! I love Trivial Pursuit but hubster refuses to play with me now coz I always thrash him LOL

  9. I've never played any of those. We played a few when I was young but in fads - Monopoly or Mastermind for example, plus my brother had a Test Cricket game and I had a Star Wars one. My SIL's family were huge on them and early in their life together we constantly got roped into Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit etc...

  11. I loathe Monopoly and any spin off versions - too complex, too competitive and it brings out stuff in me that is better left buried! I'm a big fan of word games like Scrabble and Pictionary though.

  12. I really love board games and own over 60 different games. I am also part of several local board game groups here in Raleigh. My favorites are Dominion, Pandemic, Carcassonne, and Lords of Waterdeep. Ok... I have like ten more I want to list, but I will stop there. : )

  13. I was never much of a boards game person when the kids were little and it seemed when we did play there'd be a fight over something and someone would stomp off. These days though they've suddenly 'found' board games, and both love them, so sometimes now we play with our grown up children and nobody throws a hissy fit anymore. I like Monopoly and Scrabble.

  14. I remember Monopoly was a favourite and all the 'old fashioned' ones like checkers and scrabble. I must admit thought I haven't played for quite a while.
