Day 2828 - The Lovin Life Linky - Escape Edition

We've headed in another direction ...

Every winter we try our best to escape the Canberra cold.  Sometimes we go to the extreme heat (like Vegas or Hawaii) and other times we just head to the south coast or to Queensland.

Over the last 7 days I've managed to wander to three separate spots on the map which add a few degrees.

I had my author visit to the Gold Coast last weekend where I managed to add at least 5-10 degrees to my days.

Then while the model daughter did her thing in Sydney on Tuesday, I wandered down to Wollongong for lunch with a friend which added around 8 degrees.

The Lagoon in North Wollongong
We were due to be in Thailand right now in the midst of a steamy jungle and an additional 35 degrees, but due to circumstances beyond our control we cancelled that little junket and we've ended up in Noosa instead.  We'll take the extra 10 degrees thank you very much.

Our back yard in Noosa for the next 10 days
So that's what I'm lovin' about life right now.

Just because I live somewhere where the winters get cold, doesn't mean I have to commit to it 24/7/52/forever.

If I'm not lovin' where I am, I can create opportunities to head in another direction for a while.

We all can.

  1. It doesn't matter how much you love a place - escape soothes the soul &, I believe, triggers creativity too. Enjoy.

  6. I was quite sad to leave my heater this morning to go to work :) Mostly because it has been a hard week and I just want to sleep though. Heaters & snuggly things are great psychological comfort!

  10. Oh I think there's a deep message there as well Leanne and I know you probably weren't meaning to be hugely profound but basically... IF YOU'RE NOT LOVING WHERE YOU ARE (AT), CHANGE IT!

I know people can't always jet off to warmer places or go on holidays but you've reminded me we can do small things to cheer ourselves up. Or make small changes so life is less miserable!!!!

    1. I actually did sneak that in that (and tried to make it subtle so I wasn't coming across all preachy). But yes, that is one of my mantras - if you don't like it, then change it.

  11. Yay for you, it's damn cold here in Victoria today, we had a frost overnight which is not common given we are on the coast. I'm sitting on top of my heater dreaming of Europe later this year. Enjoy lovely Noosa, it's a favourite spot of ours.

  12. I wish I was headed somewhere warm. Hot tea and ducted heating seem to be doing the trick for now.

    1. Hahaha. Maybe I should take up knitting then. Actually, I do love having four seasons, but winter escapes are what keep me sane.

  14. It's great that you have the opportunity to travel so much Leanne - I'm starting to feel the need for a few days away - I must start prodding my husband in that direction!
