Day 2901 - The Lovin Life Linky - Archibald Edition

Australia's favourite art award

As part of my girl's 18th birthday festival we went on a mother-daughter date to the Art Gallery of NSW to check out the Archibald finalists.

The Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prizes is an annual exhibition and I was delighted to get the opportunity to check it out for the first time.

It's opportunities like these that I'm lovin' about life this week.

Have you been to an Archibald exhibit?

When was the last time you visited a gallery?

What are you lovin' about life right now?

The Archibald exhibit runs until 22 October 2017.

  5. Yes I have been the the Archibalds and to the NSW Art Gallery on many occasions. One year, I took my then 6 year old granddaughter who at that stage was quite a gifted artist herself, but when one of the entries was of a naked full frontal of a Judge in his red robes askew ....I censored it (and we left to go to Hyde Park...so she did not get think this might be Santa....LOL. I have been to our local regional Gallery in Gosford which exhibits quite a lot of art and sculpture and is set in beautiful Japanese Gardens which are a gift from the people of Japan. Art is a very individual thing and what I like, others might not. I have a post card of my favourite Australian work on my fridge. Grunder's Spring Frost. I also LOVE the Portrait Gallery in Canberra. I so hope to get to Canberra myself in Autumn 2018.

  7. This looks fabulous. There are some good entries here. I like the portrait of Lisa Wilkinson - so life like. The last artworks I saw were in Doges Palace in Venice by some of the most world famous renaissance artists. It was amazing!

  17. Wow that looks amazing. I have to admit that I'm not a massive art lover but I do appreciate it and all it involves. I went to the Tate Modern in London years ago. Should go again! #LovinLifeLinky
