There are some days I wake up and wonder what it is that I'm lovin'. I have to dig deep. Not because life is shite, but because there are things clouding my mind making the good stuff harder to see.
On those days I head to Instagram to remind myself of what I've been up to and the beauty I've snapped. I revisit those moments that were worth capturing in an effort to change the lens in which I'm viewing the world.
While this week's Deep Fried Instagram feed may not be filled with exotic locations, fine dining or a refurbished home, it does sum up that to love life is to appreciate its many many small parts.
It's the little things ...
1. Finding lovely coffee shops like the Pollen Cafe at the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
2. Being able to take my 96 year old Nanna for a morning picnic at this gorgeous little park near her aged care facility in Cooma
3. Having my daughter home for the weekend where we styled new outfits and took a few pics for our next mother/daughter style collaboration (watch this space)
4. Finding some old favourites in the back of my wardrobe as I packed away the winter and brought out the summer clothing
5. Being able to support my friend's new shop - the Gungahlin Collective - and marvelling at the clever locals who have created their own brands which she now stocks.
6. Finding a beauty product that actually feels like it's making a difference (and smells divine)
7. Remembering how much I love spring and all that goes with it.
8. Going on picturesque walks for renewed energy and to invigorate the senses.
And just like that I'm lovin' life again!
What are you lovin' about life this week?
Do you have to remind yourself to appreciate the little things?

Haha I guess my linked post this week is exactly what I'm NOT lovin'. Oops!
DeleteI love how you can always find the positive Leanne. There really is so much to be grateful for, even on the cloudy days. Sending you hugs :) xox #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely reminders of what you've been loving! I'm looking forward to seeing your next mother daughter styling post!

Nature is really uplifting. Look forward to the Mother-daughter collab! I'm loving the Swinburne Microfiction challenge....
ReplyDeleteRight on, Leanne! Many good things come in small packages.
ReplyDeleteGosh I bet your Nanna enjoyed getting outside. What a lovely space that is. I hope your weekend ahead is a good one. I am coming out of the mental and physical fog of a dreadful flu-type virus (lucky not the bad ones) and today is the first time I have been at the computer in 2 days. A record!! Thank you for your link up.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to make the most of outside time before the heat beats me into a pulp. SO MUCH walking in the past week. My feet are feeling it haha. But in a good way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun trip down your week!! I can't wait to see the mother/daughter collaboration. You know that's obviously something I will love!!

I love that you took your nana for a walk. It's always very special having time with your daughter and I will look forward to your collab post. This morning I went for a beach walk on a blue sky day and then ate a sweet succulent mango for breakfast and that made me happy. You're so right - it is the little things that make your life special! #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving our new (to us) home. Not that it is my dream home. Far from it. More that it is keeping me suitably distracted as we slowly commence renovations and now my fractured bones have healed, I can start decorating the place.
ReplyDeleteI will be publishing later in the day. Another film giveaway. But I'm also packing for my trip to Adelaide and have an event on here in Perth before I fly out, so no time for linking up and blog hopping.
DeleteInsta has a knack for capturing some great #lovinlife moments! Loving that park you took your Nana to and the spring flowers and the snap from your walk ... think I'm a little bit of a nature lover! lol #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos - and very Spring-y which is always nice after the dull, dismal days of Winter!
ReplyDeleteI love all the things that you have found to love. What a great way to remind yourself of the gifts of life, it is so easy to forget the 'little things' which are actually quite big.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid life over the past two weeks has felt very much about work and little else. I didn't leave my house at all last weekend so that's kinda my own fault. I just bunkered down. I got heaps of blogging and online stuff done Saturday but slept most of Sunday - guess that's what I needed...
ReplyDeleteThe return of the sunshine. I've missed it after a week of rain - & a week in Sydney. Will need to be reminded of that next week when back in Sydney again...lucky I have plenty of instagram reminders!
ReplyDeleteLove this post - Mine would include- Cuddling my dogs, smelling fresh air at the woods, seeing that my grown kids have carved pumpkins for their owns houses... #TeamLovin'Life
ReplyDeleteI think it's so nice to be able to look back and see all the positives for the week. I should use Instagram more and photos in general to remind of the good things in life.
ReplyDeleteI think it's those little sparkle moments that give us the most joy and keep is chugging along, so we need to remember what those things are and include them every day.
ReplyDeleteI think the little simple things are the best things in life. I am loving photographing our gorgeous wildflowers right now. And walking on a beach.
ReplyDeletePerfect timing to read your post. An issue with my teen left me forgetting why I am lovin' life. A few photos later, and I feel better - although they were your photos that did the trick for me
