Day 92

"You spin me round round baby right round, like a record baby, round round round round ..." Yes, that is the original 80s spinning song which you can hear in the very nostalgic taffeta and mullet flick "The Wedding Singer". (Not the newer Flo Rida spinning song "when you go down town".)

So why am I spinning? Because I took a bunch of kids to the fair last night and as the "volunteer participative adult" I got a bit of spin action happening that almost (almost) made me puke. Despite all my weak tummy moments with poo, vomit and public toilets, I have managed to maintain a cast iron stomach when it comes to the ol' whirly gig. I am thinking age may be catching up with me though and that my resistance to the spin factor may be slipping. Yes, as you all know I do suffer some vertigo issues from time to time associated with the fibro, but surely that wouldn't affect my ability to out-whirl my kids at the theme park? Surely?!

Anyway, last night I was the designated "riding adult" and managed 17 rides which included the cha-cha, ski jump, wipe out, the swings, music trip and ferris wheel. There were others I am sure but they all started to spin into one by the end so it is a bit of a blur. In previous years I have always left the music trip till last because it is not just a spinning ride but also has a vertical drop so it's best not to attempt more spins once you have tackled that one. But this year I got roped into doing that one mid-fair which meant I had to follow up with the cha-cha (for the third time), the ski jump and finally the swings which went FOREVER because it was one of the last rides for the night and no one was waiting in line to get on!

I managed to keep it all together until we left the fair and headed to the car. Tahlia needed a toilet stop so with an already weakened stomach I had to face a public toilet ... and that my dear friends is where the heaving began ....
