Day 258

I'm not anal at all. Getting up at 6.00am on a Sunday so I can beat the crowds to the supermarket is perfectly normal and sane and (might I say) quite progressive!

Yes, progressive. The actual definition of progressive is "favouring or promoting progress" which makes my dawn shopping expedition progressive. No kids, no husband, no crowds, no lines. Nothing but forward movement. Managed to do my big monthly shop in under an hour ... wonky trolley and all. And the best part was the shelves were fully stocked having been replenished overnight by the lovely stacker people after Saturday's normal stripping.

I am so pleased I wasn't part of that Saturday crowd. My heart goes out to those of you who were. Giving up my Sunday sleep-in was definitely worth the heaven that was shopping. And yes, I had my oh so cheerful Sunny Daze shopping bags ( with me. Mandatory! High heels, not so much. Trolley was not heel friendly which is something I note every trip and forget to acknowledge at the next outing. No stilettos today, just a bit of a blocky boot heel, but would have been better in flats.

Ok, so all that said, I am off to finish the unpacking and then I might take the fun bus to the valet car wash before heading off to join my daughter and her clan. They are getting preened and primped for today's big calisthenics troupe competition. (I actually did a typo there in my first draft and said they were getting "pimped". Hmmm. Not sure I like that Freudian slip.)

Where are the boys? I dunno. Doing manly things apparently ... probably eating meat pies for breakfast while they pick through the trash and treasure piles at the local markets.

Happy Sunday! May yours be progressive ... or perhaps motionless ... whichever gives you a sunny daze ....

  1. Good idea......shit, it's got to beat my vile attempts with three kids in tow yesterday afternoon....

  2. How incredibly enterprising, and in HEELS, chunky or not! I have finally given up the weekly trips and use the online service a local store has. I wait until they have freebie deliveries, which are at the most inconvenient times, but, for me, right now, worth it.

But the thought of time alone, even at 6 a.m. on a Sunday? That is enough to make me rethink the whole thing! Ah, time alone . . .

  3. Hi Leanne,
Way to go on your 80 followers, not far to the 100!!!

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
