My idea of a holiday is hanging out by a beach in Hawaii..... or hanging out by a beach in Queensland ... or hanging out by a beach on the NSW South Coast .... or hanging out by a beach on the north coast of NSW .... or even hanging out by a beach on the Central coast of NSW .... or in California ... or in Ocean City Maryland .... or in Florida .... or in Fiji .... or how about we go back to Hawaii .... get the picture?
I contemplate all this as I am only four days away to our next holiday. To hang out by a beach in Adelaide. I have never been to Adelaide. I have been thinking about Adelaide for years but never did anything about it because it just didn't seem beach-worthy enough. But then the wonderful Lucy at www.DiminishingLucy.com started talking all "gee-Adelaide-is-a-beautiful-place-to-live-and-it-is-pretty-and-we-go-to-the-drive-in" and it peaked my interest. It was the drive-in that nailed it. So in four days we start the 14 hour drive to Adelaide to go to the drive-in and hang out at Adelaide Shores. Yes, the beach bit is mandatory. The drive-in is just a bonus ...
Anyway, I am looking forward to my holiday going "splat" while Mum and Dad spend their holiday getting all sweaty and exhausted and contributing to the world by building stuff in areas that the locals don't have the resources to build themselves.
All this depends of course on Millie the pink nude's health. We think she will be fine though. Last night she not only started to jog around a bit, but she also managed to go up and down some stairs and she got all ferocious and barky at Max the hip gyrating (and partially blind) lab when we were serving their dinner. It is her ritual to bark and yap at his heels while their meals are served just to let him know that there is NO WAY he is getting any of her dinner. So with that little energy returned we think she is going to be just fine ... and our holiday will take place after all .... and we won't feel a bit guilty about leaving the dogs behind ... nor about partaking in splat-fest while the folks are on their build-a-thon. Nope. No guilt whatsoever ...
Is that bad?
