What does it take to be a cheerleader?
Well, it's a tough sport and you've got to learn a hell of a lot of skill if you're going to do competition cheer. But anyone can be a cheerleader in their own life. All you need is commitment and belief in what you're cheering for. We're all cheerleaders for someone or something. I'm a cheerleader for lots of things - my kids, my husband, my parents, my friends, my books, other people's kids.
And I'm a cheerleader for my cheerleaders.
Here we are in the current edition of Australian Cheerleading Magazine.

So again, I ask you - what does it take to be a cheerleader?
Just being on someone's team. Supporting them, encouraging them, celebrating their wins, commiserating the losses while picking them up, patting them on the back and cheering them forward. To be a cheerleader you just need spirit and to be around to help others lift there's.
And as the article says - it helps to have a little energy, a dash of enthusiasm and a whole lot of heart.
Well done, Tahlia!

I was fortunate enough to be a cheerleader when I was at school but not the same type of cheerleading as they do now, like your daughter. I'm looking forward to my kids getting older and cheering them on, not that I don't already in every thing they do.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your daughter!
