Day 674

I am sitting at one end of the dining table, and my husband is at the other.  It is 6.45am.  We are not eating.  We don't sit at the dining table to eat (are you insane?!). It's our work station.

My end has a lap top, notebooks, phone, and a basket that I call my in tray.

Husband's end has a guilotine, comics, backing boards, plastic sleeves and a cardboard box filled with tape, stamps, scissors and markers.

At my end I am replying to emails and writing to-do lists.  I do mine very quietly.

At his end he is packaging up the comics he has sold on EBay over night and there is a whole lot of sticky tape sounds, cutting of cardboard, Artline noise and banging around inside that cardboard box.  He is noisy.

I am relatively quiet by nature. Well. That's not entirely true. I am quiet by nature when the rest of the house is asleep. And I am quiet by nature when there is thinking to be done. I know how to be quiet.

Husband is not quiet. He yawns with a voice, he doesn't know how to whisper and every move he makes sounds heavy and exaggerated.  He's a big man and you know he's around.  He doesn't place things on the table top or floor, he drops them.  He clears his throat a lot.  He knocks a CD cover onto the wooden floor which sounds like a bomb going off. He does not know how to be quiet.

This makes for a bit of conflict at our shared worked station.  As I need to silence to make positive forward movement, he needs noise.

Opposites attract.  WHO THE HELL INVENTED THAT?!?!??!?!?!

I am shutting down.  My work colleague is a pain in the arse ....

  1. Lol it sounds like our husbands are very alike! If he is doing the dishes I swear the neighbors think we are having a Greek smashing the plates type of party! Everything he does is sooo loud!

  2. LOL. Glad to hear it's not only in my home ...

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
