Did you know that your blog can actually capture some comments made by people and identify them as spam? I didn't know that. I know, I know. I 'm slow. It turns out I don't really know my way around this blog at all. I just go in, write and sign out. I hardly even make time to cruise the blogosphere anymore coz of all the other things on my self-created plate. I've become a lazy blogger. I've stopped learning and I've stopped socialising. I had no idea that I had a spam folder, that's for sure.
I got a spam comment yesterday so went about deleting it, and in the process discovered I could flag it as spam instead. It went into a spam file where I found a whole wad of comments that had been automatically flagged as spam including some fair dinkum comments from lovely bloggers! Comments that were now over a year old. Comments from new followers who I had never met and who had left lovely and at times hysterically funny feedback. Bugger.
I had exactly the same experience yesterday too Leanne!
ReplyDeleteI suspected a spam comment because of the bad grammar, and the fact it didn't really make any sense. And when I went to delete it I also found I could mark as spam... and YES! I found a 'non-spam' comment in my spam list.
LOL it must have been a day for lessons in blog spam! Hehehe.
LOL. Glad I'm not the only techno-peasant ...
ReplyDeleteThat happened to me a while ago too!
ReplyDeleteBTW, that image made me vomit a little! I am not a spam fan! LOL!
