This post is brought to you by the letter "C"

Not everyone would bring out the metaphorical balloons and whistles for a straight set of "C"s on their report card, but we are. The letter C is a celebration of two terms of hard work and evidence of progress. I normally don't share my kids grades with them. The grade has never been something we want to highlight. We prefer instead to concentrate on the comments and the effort and acknowledge their attention and the fact they always try their best. But this term I gave in and told Darby that he got C's which meant he was exactly where he should be in class. He is not at the top, nor at the bottom, he is right in the middle. And for a kid with dyslexia, that's a bloody huge win.
Today I am grateful for the letter C, for extra tutoring, for supportive teachers and for an engaged and happy child.
If you like living in the attitude of gratitude then head on over to
Village Voices for a very grateful reading session.
PS Don't forget the Deep Fried give away in celebration of 1000 posts.

Well done, Darby!
