Day 1007 - Canberra Frost

Jack Frost has well and truly been nipping at our toes this week.

Deep Fried Fruit - Front Yard
I don't mind living in the ice that is Canberra when there is no wind and lovely blue sky days.  That's what our frosty mornings have been giving us of late. So having to wear woolly foot and hand wear in the morning is but a small price to pay for such splendour for the rest of the day.  Mind you, that's not to say the heating bill isn't going to be enormous.

Below zero overnight temps means it takes forever to warm the place up and the morning showers are definitely getting longer and longer.  So if you don't have access to a good quality heating device I can imagine the word "splendour" is probably not the word you would use right now.

I remember being a poor uni student who would live indoors wearing Ugg boots, every sweater I owned, a coat, scarf, gloves and a hot water bottle stuck inside my shirt. Yep, when all else fails grab yourself a hot water bottle or a microwavable wheat bag.  Warms you up in no time!

And the other thing that warms you up is colourful accessories! I am going to have to unsubscribe to Collette. I keep getting these emails that literally make me salivate they are so yummy.  Like this one. How great is that handbag!! I'm off to take a couple of tweenies to the mall. A quick stop at Collette is on the cards.

  1. Brrr! It gets frosty at my house, but not quite below zero temps, just close enough! Fortunately my Winter power bill is always split in two as my billing cycle just ended this week... although I haven't been brave enough to look at the bill yet!
In other news... I love love love that yellow bag.

  2. I didn't get the yellow bag in the end. I chickened out because I would only use it occasionally. But I didn't come home empty handed! Wait til you see my new ENORMOUS handbag ....

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
