Day 1159 - The liquid diet

I still haven't lost that 4kg I had hoped to lose before Christmas.

My belly is giving Chelsea's pregnant belly a run for it's money. I still haven't managed to lose that weight I had hoped to lose before Christmas.  So I made a decision to go liquid. Genius! I can "eat" anything as long as it is in liquid form. How else can I justify my Christmas champagne cheer without going off the diet?

Rightly or wrongly I thought that perhaps if I pureed all my food in the blender and had nothing but soup, smoothies and juice for the next few weeks, I could retain my vitamin intake and maybe (just maybe) the lack of solids would equate magically to weight loss.

There is of course no science to my suggested approach.  It's just a thought that a liquid steak has got to be a whole lot more slimming than a solid one.

So I started this little experiment yesterday with yoghurt, fruit and a crumbled up wheat bix for breakfast, followed by pea and ham soup for lunch, and nothing but water and green tea in between. Then my husband brought home pizza for dinner and my half-hearted attempts at dieting went quickly out the window.  There is no way I was going to puree the pizza. It is after all my favourite food (with lamb chops and mash running a close second). I ate almost a full pepperoni pizza to myself.

Perhaps I could start this liquid gig again today?

  1. He did WHAT??? lol

Well, all I can say is this, good luck! I am not a fan of the whole 'liquid' diets, be it the type of juices etc you're doing or the shakes from a few years ago. I tried those, and lost interest real quick!!

Will be looking forward to hearing of some good results soon!!

  2. It didn't work. Last but a few hours. We had such a busy weekend and all our food was "fast" (albeit most was from our own freezer). But the only liquid I consumed was of the alcoholic variety.
    ho hum.
    New Year's resolution perhaps?

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
