New York, New York (C) Deep Fried Fruit |
We left my bestie's house at 8.30am on Friday and headed straight to the printers to pick up the brochures. Cathy had made some calls at dawn (after yesterday's post) and discovered it was good to go. What a relief!
My author talk at Siegfried Elementary school was absolutely fantastic and I am so pleased I did it. The children were enthusiastic, attentive and appreciative. So were the teachers in fact. The Principal came and chatted to me before hand which was lovely and the President of the PTA welcomed us in and we had photos taken with her as I donated books to the library.

But we made it and we are safe. And we are here in plenty of time for the Toy Fair. We've already walked the streets around us, been to the Javits Center to scope out our stall space, been to a "rookies" seminar, found our local supermarket, found our local liquor store AND found Times Square and plenty of places to eat. We've got it sorted.
The Toy Fair starts tomorrow (Sunday US time) and we're relaxed. So relaxed in fact that we've bought tickets to a comedy club tonight for a few drinks, a giggle and date night. Oh, and the snow has stopped falling and we've got blue skies above. And I only stepped in one deep(ish) ice puddle ... and survived.
I have to tell you though, during the night we could hear the blizzard outside. The wind was crazy and the white that welcomed us when we awoke was definitely a sight to behold. Glad we got to New York before it all started that's for sure.
Enjoy the photos.

Yay. Glad you made it. I hope you are enjoying your time as well as sharing Cheer Chick Charlie and avoiding blizzards.
