Day 1475 - Junee Licorice Factory

The Licorice and Chocolate Factory in Junee

So Derek and I have just driven two and a half hours into the country for a mate's wedding.  We're in the lovely town of Junee which has a bunch of stuff to see including the Licorice Factory.

Housed in the restored Junee Flour Mill the factory produces a range of certified organic confectioneries which can be found in shops around Australia and overseas. The factory is operated by Green Grove Organics who have been producing organically grown food since the 1960s. Of course we bought a few packs of licorice and rocky road to take home.

The factory has guided tours on the hour between 10.00 and 4.00 seven days a week. They also have a great little restaurant called Graze @ The Factory where we ate lunch and listened a great blues duo.  In fact, the band - Doggn It Blues - won first prize at the Australian Blues Festival last year which sent them to Memphis to represent Australia. As you can imagine, with that kind of resume, they are pretty busy these days travelling around Australia and their first album comes out in January. Super cool!

So that's how we've spent our day so far! Time to go and get dressed for this wedding now though so it's time to sign off. Be sure to come back tomorrow for a run down on the Junee Belmore Manor B&B. My first ever B&B experience.

Happy Saturday! Enjoy the photos.
