If you loved Monsters Inc, then you're really gonna love Monsters University. Being released this Wednesday 13 November 2013 on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital is this very funny, and oh so family friendly, prequel. Keep reading, because you could WIN a copy. Let me hear your roar!
If you're a Monsters enthusiast like me you'll know that Mike Wazowski and James P Sullivan are inseparable. But apparently that wasn't always the case - in fact, they couldn't stand each other.
The movie starts off with Mike as an extremely cute elementary aged monster on a school excursion to Monsters Inc which is where his dream to become a scarer is born. He's not the most popular kid at school so finding friends is hard for him. Heading to university is no different as this monster geek puts all his efforts into studying to be the best scarer he can be. Enter Sulley who puts no energy into study but plenty of effort into partying and goofing around. Mike has the book smarts but no actual scare factor. Sulley can certainly scare but refuses to study the finer points to truly master his art. As a result, both face failing the course.
In a tertiary adventure of Animal House proportions (that's a slight exaggeration), we explore the love/hate relationship of this pair as geek and jock are forced to become team mates in a battle to graduate. Combining their talents the duo join up with a band of campus misfits and form the Oozma Kappa (OK) fraternity to compete in the campus Scare Games - the only way to win their way back into the Scare Program.
Billy Crystal and John Goodman return to reprise their roles as Mike and Sulley and are joined by an all-star cast that includes Helen Mirren, Sean Hayes and Steve Buscemi.
In typical Disney Pixar style this movie is one that tugs at your heart strings and taps on your funny bone in a great family comedy about growing up, finding yourself and everlasting friendship.
The movie is released on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital on 13 November 2013.
