Who's already got Christmas lists prepared at their house?
My kids have always written a letter to Santa, or in some cases, an email. As they grow that letter to Santa has become a list which is handed to me, or in Tahlia's case it's still an email.
I'm lucky that my children have never had long lists. It's usually around five or six things each ranging from the expensive to the cheap.
It's me that goes lovey-dovey crazy gift-givey overboard at Christmas, not them. Here we are in mid-November and the lists have already arrived on my desk, or in Tahlia's case my desktop. I guess that means I could probably start shopping! But to be honest, the thought of Christmas shopping is a little overwhelming right now. Once upon a time I used to start in August, these days I'm lucky to get it done at all.
Have the lists started arriving in your house yet?
When do you start Christmas shopping?
Is Santa's letter hand-written or emailed?
My kids are making lists, that are currently changing daily. We lock it in with the visit to santa - one thing. Then they can't change their mind, cos how would santa know???
ReplyDeleteSo my kids just love looking through catalogues, only one can write, and it's her first year, so no doubt I'll be helping her pen hers! Started my shopping, but not going overboard this year as getting big outdoor play hut/swing set/cubby for kids!
ReplyDeleteMy Esther wants a Barbie which sounds easy peasy to me. I try and get organized through out the year to get the presents so it's not a crazy busy time at Christmas trying to find the right present and then overspending because I second guess my choices.
ReplyDeleteI have all my Xmas shopping done - I just do not do Xmas crowds!
ReplyDeleteMr4 is still at that stage where everything he sees he wants. The list is quite large I must say.
Last year we got a great picture of him on Santa's knee counting down on his fingers all the things he wanted. I need to do something about this I think!
I normally have a Dec 1st Christmas rule. This year, with Christmas hitting the shops in September I'm over it already.
ReplyDeleteMy two boys are constantly rambling out loud what they want for Christmas - don't yet write their list down, but I'm sure they will. I write lists - lots and lots of lists - in the hope that I feel somewhat prepared among the reality of being completely unprepared for Christmas. Josefa visiting from #teamIBOT
ReplyDeleteWe are pretty much done with Christmas shopping. Well, that's not true. We need to get Nick's big present - a bike - although he keeps changing his mind. He's asked Santa for a puppy which just won't happen this year :( And I need to get some stocking stuffers. I want it all to be done before December hits. I can already feel the shops getting more and more crowded and I don't do Christmas crowds if I can help it!
ReplyDeleteI am off to finish the last of my shopping tomorrow, I really only need a few bits and pieces as I have one most through a toy catalogue and also our local markets. Good luck with yours!!
ReplyDeleteMy boys are still too young to be making list. I am feeling pretty organised though, my christmas shopping is all done.. my christmas baking on the other hand is still a work in progress!
ReplyDeleteI've received the list, and it's almost done and dusted!
ReplyDeleteI tend to pick up things during the year, when I see something that I know would be a great gift for someone on my list.
I'm quite relieved not to have to fight the crowds on Christmas eve :)
My kids lists are usually three times more than what I can afford so they have a budget now that they are older. I still remember their anger when they found out Santa was me :)Oops hope no kids are reading, Cheers Tanya
ReplyDeleteMiss 9 has a list that she keeps adding to but my teens are incredibly hard to pin down to what they want. At 19, 17 and 15 they want cold hard cash or big ticket items. The poor Christmas tree looks a little bare when it's just got envelopes under it :-(
ReplyDeleteWe've never really done lists, but this year Taylah handed me one and I had just about finished her shopping! Thankfully I had more or less got everything on it anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteI endeavour to get all shopping done before december just cause I don't cope well with the busyness of the shopping centres.
