So there you have it. Onions and garlic are so much more than flavour boosting, bad breath creating, I'm gonna make you cry foods. They've got other super powers as well! A good one to keep you feeling less Deep Fried.

LAST DAY TO GET IN THE DRAW!
Who wants some free shampoo?
Head and Shoulders would like Deep Fried Fruit readers to start 2014 with a fresh and "ready for anything" confidence. Soft, healthy and flake free hair is just around the corner. So you too can feel head and shoulders above the rest.
They are offering FOUR prize packs each of which includes:
- Head and Shoulders anti-breakage scalp care shampoo and conditioner set 400ml
- Head and Shoulders clean and balanced shampoo and conditioner set 400ml.
Total prizes valued at $183.84 (that's around $46 per prize).
To enter the competition simply say ME and you're in the draw. The competition is open to Australian residents and closes next Tuesday 11 February at midnight. You can enter via blog comment, Deep Fried Facebook, Deep Fried Twitter, email or text. Four names will be pulled randomly from a hat. Please make sure I have enough details to track you down if you win. If I can't contact winners within three days of the draw I will need to do a re-draw.
This competition is going CRAZY over at Deep Fried Facebook. Most popular competition I've ever run! Shampoo sure is popular ...
Just run them under cold water before cutting - does the same as refrigeration...
ReplyDeleteWe're all big garlic and onion fans here, I think they make so many foods taste that much better. :)
ReplyDeleteWe use a lot of red onions. Not as strong but still a great flavour and the kids don't mind them.
ReplyDeleteThe original 'super foods'...
ReplyDeleteIt is funny, I love onions and garlic in my food. Plus the health benefits are fabulous, but I seriously despise preparing them and admit to often using the dried or crushed variety in a jar!
ReplyDeleteI have always wondered what the health benefits if onions are. I did just think they were for flavour.
ReplyDeleteMy kids caught me putting onion in the pasta sauce the other day and carried on like lunatics about how much they HATE onion. If only they knew they'd been eating it in the pasta sauce their entire lives without even realising!
ReplyDeleteI love a good super food! and really don't know how to cook without garlic, so win-win Josefa from #teamIBOT
ReplyDeleteI love reading about the magic of superfoods but aw, crap. Is there any way to boost memory without sacrificing friends??
ReplyDeleteI always cook with onions and garlic, my big boy is none the wiser!
ReplyDeleteI love cooking with onion and garlic. I love the flavours and I now equally love the health benefits. :)
ReplyDeleteA former friend- a naturopath is a HUGE believe in the powers of garlic - I eat whole cloves when I'm sick, I don't chew just swallow x
ReplyDeleteFood really isn't complete without either onion or garlic. You also can't have a proper sausage sizzle without onion!
