Got an end of winter lurgy?
Apparently you can treat a common cold without the need for a trip to the chemist. According to the book "Natural Remedies" by Mim Beim, you can treat a cold as follows: In a teapot combine the juice of one lemon; add half the lemon rind chopped up; half a stick of cinnamon; a handful of fresh thyme chopped; 3cm of fresh ginger root thinly sliced; and a dollop of honey. Add boiling water and stand for 5 minutes. Drink 2-3 cups daily.
I have been lucky enough to avoid the winter lurgy this year, so I haven't had a chance to try this remedy. But I'll be sure to keep it up my sleeve for next time!
