Day 1858 - Pantene Soft Curls Foam - Product Review

Who doesn't love soft curls?

Do you know how hard it is to take a selfie of the back of your head?
Pantene sends me a lot of stuff.  I am kind of happy about that because recently I went back to using whatever shampoo and conditioner I had left in my cupboard and they were of different brands and didn't even match. My hair complained bitterly and got all fuzzy and limp.  So the fact that Pantene have filled my cabinet with lovely matchy matchy stuff again excites me no end!

Yesterday I was going through my collection working out what I would keep and what I could pass on to friends.  I was delighted to discover the Pantene Soft Curls Foam lurking in the background.

When you're on this aging positively gig you're always looking for ways to embrace the aging process.  Yep, we know all about that here at Deep Fried Fruit.

But there is an underlying truth. We're not just trying to embrace aging ... there's a bloody big part of us which is trying to stop it altogether.

Nothing screams YOUTH like soft curly hair.

All the fabulously wholesome age defying chicks have it.

So I figured, why not?  Let's do this soft curl thing.

I started by washing my hair with Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal shampoo and conditioner.

I then put the Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Creme into the ends of my hair to treat my dried ends.

After I let my hair dry naturally I grabbed the Pantene Soft Curls Foam and sprayed about an orange sized pile into my hand. I rubbed my hands together then ran the foam through my hair from the mid head region right down to the tips.

From there I gave my hair a brush to even it out and then I grabbed the hot rollers.  I sectioned off my hair and wound it quickly (and somewhat haphazardly) into each individual roller.  Note: I do not hot roller my fringe.

I left the curlers in for around 20 minutes (at which point I went to my desk and did very desky things).

Then I took them all out to find that my hair was springing up into very tight curls around my shoulders.  Eeek!

But don't panic.  This is good.  We want this type of curl so that we can keep the curl all day and all night long.

To coax the curl down a bit I brushed out my hair with a wide tooth brush and then grabbed some more Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Creme.  I squirted a small amount into my hands and again rubbed my hands together before raking my fingers through my hair from the mid head level down to the tips.

Perfect!  I present to you soft curls.

There is nothing deep fried about soft curls.  It's a nifty little "aging positively" trick.

I used hot rollers which gave my hair a very bounce appearance.  You can achieve a more contoured soft curls look by using a flat iron to curl your hair.

You can buy Pantene Soft Curls Foam wherever Pantene products are sold and it costs around $8.50 a bottle.

The best news about this product is, it doesn't just help with getting some bounce and curl in your hair, it is also a treatment! Yep.  So after all those hot rollers and flat irons and blow dries, this stuff is actually working towards keeping your hair healthy.
