Day 1897 - Healthier food choices

On this Wordless Wednesday I give you food.

Roast beef, cheese, salad and Granny's homemade mango chutney -  best had toasted
Healthier food. It's all part of my "road to health and fitness" push to get back to being fit and fabulous in my 40s.  Sometimes all it takes is little tweaks to go from drab to fab.

Since heading back on this eating path my clothes fit me well and I've toned up my arms, butt, legs and stomach with daily sit-ups, squats, dips and leg raises.  Relief! There is also the added bonus of losing 3.5kg of extra weight I've been carrying around over the past 6 months.

Anyway this is the stuff I've been eating.


Standard cereal for breakfast - just increasing the fruit factor

Have switched rice for shredded cauliflower with all of our casserole and stir-fry style meals

Nice big salads for lunch with loads of yummy stuff and heated up left over meat from the night before.

Healthier options on take-away night - this one from Zambreros Mexican fast food. 

Some cruskets and light cream cheese for a smaller lunch

Fruit and raw veg with green tea for morning tea.

Lighter dinner options without compromising on taste - I LOVE bacon! Bacon, pea and capsicum smash.

More crusket style lunch options with a side of fruit, nuts and vege chips.  Chai latte as a treat.

My favourite breakfast of the mo - asparagus, broccolini and eggs with green tea.


  1. I keep thinking I need to try the cauli rice - have added it to my must try list in the kitchen thanks to your post. Great work on trying to make the everyday meals a little healthier.
