Day 1993 - Eat More Fruit

Fruit can fight depression

As I was lounging back reading the Woman's Weekly on the weekend I came across an interesting tidbit under "Health News".  Apparently women who eat at least two servings of fruit a day are less likely to suffer from depression (according to a study undertaken by the University of Queensland).

The study took place over six years with more than 6000 women participating.  They took into account things like body mass, smoking, alcohol, education and marital status and found what they consider to be a very clear link between lack of fruit consumption and the onset of depressive symptoms.

So as we go on this journey of aging positively and happily, it's more important than ever to add a few berries to our cereal, a plum to our morning tea, an apple with our lunch and a mango, banana and strawberry smoothie to our afternoon tea!

  1. I need no excuses to eat more fruit! I love it! If only my favourite blueberries, peaches and mangoes were reasonable priced and readily available all year round!

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
