Who wants to come to Europe with me?

Porto Venere on Cinque Terre Cruise (John Vernon) - from the Albatross Tours website |
As I sit
here in the pre-dawn wearing my flannies, Uggs, dressing gown and cuddling a
cup of warm tea, I find myself dreaming of warmer pastures.
There’s
Queensland of course. I could always
jump on a flight and head north. Been there, done that. I need something
different.
There’s also
the wonders (and the friendships) of the USA.
I've got another scoping trip to Vegas for the Licensing Expo happening
really soon which is sure to warm my bones. Again, been there, done that.
I know, I
know. I’m being a princess.
It’s just
that the older I get the more I find myself dreaming of a European
getaway. You’ll recall me dreaming ofthe Greek Islands earlier this year .
As my fibro
body reacts to the cool Canberra Autumn, I dream of a European summer.
It seems I
am all alone with this dream. The Husb
just doesn’t have Europe on his radar.
Shame.
Looks like
when I’m rich and famous I’ll just have to take that trip without him.
So while I’m
not seriously looking to fly the coop just yet, I am starting to scan the interwebs
for what a European summer might look like.
As luck
would have it the lovely people from Albatross Tours contacted me to chat about
a Deep Fried Albatross connection. They
wondered if I might like to scan their site for all things European. Sure! I can do that …
It turns out
they’ve been conducting tours through Europe for over 20 years! I’d say that
makes them fairly knowledgeable then.
So during my
virtual tour of Europe (wearing my flannies, Uggs, dressing gown and still
cuddling that cup of tea) I have just spent 18 days touring the Italian lakes
district, spent time in an Italian castle, wandered around Tuscany and been on
the Amalfi Coast.
I’ve also
spent 14 days in regional France at medieval villages, sleepy chateaux, lovely
green vineyards and eating baguettes filled with ripe cheese and pate.
Then of
course there’s mangifico Spain and Portugal.
Not to mention Croatia and Gallipoli.
Of course I’d better pop into England and visit the Queen. Plus even though I’m escaping winter, I’d
better check out some snow-capped peaks in Switzerland.
What do you
think? This European Summer thing looks
like something for the bucket list for sure!
The great
thing about doing it with someone like Albatross is that it’s all done for
you. They organise the accommodation,
flights, itineraries, sights and the money you pay is all inclusive. It also includes any tips! PLUS you’re with a
small group (maximum group size is 28 people) so you get to make new friends
and hang out with other cool peeps.
To find out
more about Albatross head on over to www.albatrosstours.com.au and take a virtual tour.
It’s free to dream … and you can wear your
slippers …
