Day 2094 - Nice 'n Easy Age Defy Product Review

Want to cover your greys?

Grey hair is not something I want to give in to. I know many women do (and I applaud them) but I would like to hold on to some semblance of youthful colour for as long as possible.

I got my first grey hair at 22.  I pulled it out and three grew back in its place. Yes, it appears that old wives tale may be true.

As a result I've been pretty much dying my hair ever since.  Well, longer if you count those weird attempts at going blonde in my teens.  (When I say blonde I mean orange).

I need to cover up my skunk line every four weeks (that's how grey I am) but definitely can't afford frequent trips to the hairdressers.  Instead I go once every four months to the salon and do the in between dyes at home. Given it's only the skunk line I ultimately have dye left over, so I use that on the Husb to give him a little bit of a youthful shine.

My hair colour brand of choice has always been Nice'n Easy.  I love the product, it's easy to use, it covers the grey and the conditioner they give you is to DIE FOR.  Sorry ... let's say that again.

The conditioner they give you is to DYE FOR!

So when the PR company sent me the brand new Clairol Nice 'n Easy Age Defy to trial I said YES!!! Please send it express post ...

So they did.

This stuff not only gives great colour but it also leaves the hair looking and feeling younger.  You see, they've added an extra step.  Let me explain.

The Nice 'n Easy Defy range uses the combined efforts of a three step advanced colour system that includes a primer, colour and deep conditioning treatment.  The primer is the key.

The new collection works to fight the seven signs of ageing hair:
  • Stubborn grey
  • Lacklustre colour
  • Coarseness
  • Dryness
  • Unruly
  • Breakage
  • Frizz
All those things above ... they're the things I battle with every day.

So I am VERY pleased they've managed to make a good product ever better.  The extra step is an age defy smoothing pre-treatment that softens coarse, colour-resistant grey hair to help the colour blend evenly.

It's easy to use. You just open the sachet, plonk the stuff on your head and apply it on dry hair from root to tip.  No need to rinse it out, you just leave it there.

Then you apply your colour creme as usual (you mix the tube with the stuff in the applicator bottle ... highly technical terminology here), leave for about 25 minutes, then rinse it out and apply the conditioner (which you'll remember is to DYE FOR!)

The colour lasts and lasts.  The only issue I have is my regrowth.  My actual hair doesn't lose the colour ... it's the pesky fast growing regrowth that buggers me up.

The Nice 'n Easy Age Defy range comes in 12 colours (all natural looking) and costs around $15.50 each.

You can get it from supermarkets and pharmacies and even your little grocery store down the road.

It's a great little product to help us age positively!

Nice n Easy ...
