Day 2389 - Kangaroo Valley

Today I am a valley girl ...

Kangaroo Valley is a lovely part of the world and a spot that I've driven through often.  Although I'd never actually stayed there until this weekend.

In town for my cousin's 30th birthday celebrations I'm getting to combine some Saturday wandering through this quaint little village with an overnight stay on a gorgeous ten acre property at the foot of the Barrengarry Moutain.

Plenty of  rural "weekenders" to rent for group getaways
Kangaroo Valley sits along the Kangaroo River in the Shoalhaven area of New South Wales.  Situated between Moss Vale (just off the Hume Highway) and Nowra (Princes Highway) Kangaroo Valley has a relaxed old world charm far removed from the fast pace congestion of the city.

The main street lined with cottage style shops.

Rich farm land make this a very attractive spot for those with money to invest in prime real estate.

Only a two hour drive from Sydney airport (and about the same distance from Canberra) it really is a great weekend retreat.

The pub is a favourite.

So if you're looking for a weekend getaway, have a think about Kangaroo Valley!

You too can be a valley girl ...

  1. I want that bike Leanne. You make it look pretty cool too.

  2. I've only passed through Kangaroo Valley once but it is a tranquil place - perfect for a weekend retreat.

  3. It looks amazing! If I'm ever in that neck of the woods, will have to check it out :-)

  4. As a kid who lived on the South Coast from birth to 10, Kangaroo Valley was a favourite picnic spot. Sad (in some ways) to say, this place has become more expensive than some areas of Sydney. Beauty is such an attraction in the valley between the hills and the sea isn't it?

  5. Oh that's beautiful! Looks like a very restful place.

  6. It looks like a lovely place to relax.

I love hearing your thoughts! Keep them rolling in :)
