My gorgeous Mothers Day flowers from last year |
Probably the thing I love most about my life is being a mum.
Having been blessed with the opportunity to raise children is something I'll be forever grateful for.
I didn't know how powerful love was until my kids were born. Sure I loved my husband and my parents and my friends, but the love of a child the moment they're in your arms does not compare to anything else I've ever felt.
So today's Lovin' Life Linky is dedicated to everyone who is a mum, has a mum or hopes to be a mum.
To all those women who do mum-like things whether with their own kids, their friend's kids, their fur babies or children they've "adopted" along the way.
I don't know exactly what my Mothers Day will bring, but I do believe there is a new suitcase in my future and I am hoping for a shit load of cuddles. Perhaps some mandatory Mothers Day slippers. I'll be with extended family having a lovely lunch, plus we'll have our butts parked at the Dendy later today to see Mothers Day. I'm pretty sure my day will be a good celebration of all things motherhood.
My own mum won't be with me this year. She's off being a grey nomad. I'm lucky that's she's within Facebook reach though, unlike many people whose mums are waiting for them in heaven. To those people I send you a hug and hope that today brings you some beautiful memories and a sense of peace.
Happy Mothers Day!

ReplyDeleteMe too Lydia! Me too ... (I'll keep you posted)
DeleteI struggle a little with Mother's Day as it's a reminder about my own failed attempts at motherhood. But I don't begrudge others the celebration of course!
ReplyDeleteI was spectacularly boring and got my mum a card and flowers!
Feeling for you Deb and I am glad you and your mum have a good relationship. Love to you. Denyse x
DeleteLots of love to you Deb. You're a mum at heart ... and an Aunt ... that all counts on Mothers Day.
DeleteYou do sound like you will be having a good day ahead. Since we moved away from Sydney Mother's Day is different but I want it to be for the mothers (my DD and DIL) ...not me. My daughter is going to come up today with 2 of the grandkids and my son will be at home with his wife and the four grandkids doing their thing. I felt a lot of pressure about Mother's Day when my mum was around so I am just as happy to let Mother's Day pass...but I still hope for a phone call from our son!! Denyse
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers Day Denyse. And Grandmothers Day. Enjoy your time with your grandkids!
DeleteI love being a Mum, too. Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day! x
