Do you get Mondayitis?
I don't recall ever having Mondayitis. Oh actually, I think I used to get it as a kid having to go to school, but never in the workplace. Why? Because I chose not to.
The secret to avoiding the Monday blues is to love what you do!
And if the thing you do doesn't bring you joy, then find a way to bring joy to it.
Yep, it's really that simple. Laughing and smiling your way through Monday is the best way to kick start the week.
The key is to make a decision to love Monday.
Focus on the possibilities, the opportunities, your strengths, how you value add, the income generation and the new chapter in which to create your life.
Every day is a new page in which to write our life story. Every week we get to start a new chapter.
So pump up the happy music on the way to work, have a cuppa and catch up about everybody's weekend the moment you walk through those doors, log onto You Tube and watch a silly cat video when you get to your desk, then with a smile firmly in place, get the show on the road.
If you bring a sense of joy to everything you do, Monday will never be a problem for you ...
Happiness doesn't always come naturally to everyone. I confess, it doesn't come naturally to me. Just like anything, happiness takes practice.
(Just like grammar - should that be practise or practice? Hmmm ... )
Do you get Mondayitis?
How do you dive into your working week?
Do you practice happiness?
Is it practice or practise?
Speaking of Lovin' Life, have you joined the Lovin' Life Linky yet? It's not to late. Open until Thursday.
In my old job I had mondayitis bigtime. Less so now, but I still adore the luxury of the weekend and school holidays....so this week, with school going back tomorrow, I have Tuesdayitis...
ReplyDeleteTuesdayitis :)
DeleteWorking from home and often on a Sunday, Monday is just another day for me. Only one out of three girls are back at school today, the other two go back tomorrow. I've actually decided to give myself the day off, once I've caught up on some blog reading.
ReplyDeleteGood idea! How was your day off?
Delete1. Did you realise this is post 2,4,6,8! Cute even numbers in a row!! 2. Practice is correct in the way you used it here. 3. Don't ever believe US spellcheck as they only have one version, with the C. the verb with "s" is the doing stuff...as in 'cheer chick Charlie is practising her cheers'.....and I used to get Sunday arvo-itis about the week ahead at school but once I was there each Monday it was cool. PS my post today makes 565 in a row ....I will spend forever catching up to you.
ReplyDelete2, 4, 6,. 8! I missed a good cheerleading lead into that post! Damn.
DeleteGlad I got Practice right!
Sundayarvoitis? Bugger.
Well done on 565 days in a row!! That's awesome.
I don't mind Mondays because the kids go to school and I get some sort of quiet time. It's been so long since I went to work, but I definitely had Mondayitis then, especially when I worked in a call centre, which I hated. It's great if you can love what you do. A lot of people don't.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that part of the appeal of Mondays for me has been having the house to myself for a few hours. And only a few because my husband works from home of an afternoon so I don't get long. I'm working in an office environment again now (on a short term assignment) so Monday's don't mean home alone for me anymore. But I still love Mondays! I'm weird like that.
DeleteI must confess that I have suffered with Mondayitis a lot over the years because for years I was not doing what I wanted to do. I was doing what I needed to do, what I was expected to do. I did try hard to make the most of it and there were some good things that happened over those years. I don't suffer with Mondayitis anymore though! :-)
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for no more Mondayitis ...
DeleteNop. Still hate Mondays! x
ReplyDeleteAwww Michelle. Try dancing your way to work. The in-car-chair-dance. Woot woot!
DeleteMaybe that's my problem I catch public transport! x
DeleteHmm, the last 4 weeks I was doing the work of two people and tired and stressed, so I certainly had Mondayitis! Today, not so much. I get restless at home for long, so while I still feel a bit low on downtime, I would be bored at home anyway! I'm a big contradiction.
ReplyDeleteI think we're all big contradictions to be honest Vanessa. I think all of our quirks and traits and preferences come with "provisos" and "out clauses"
DeleteI don't get Mondayitis either. I think I like the return to a routine that it brings!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Maybe that's it. You might have nailed it Tegan. Maybe that's why I love Mondays.
DeleteI love your enthusiasm for life, and for Mondays, Leanne! I used to get Mondayitis in my office job but now I work from home I look forward to the quiet that Monday brings!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, that "house to yourself" thing is a definite attraction when it comes to working from home.
DeleteI haven't had Mondayitis since I started my own business and working from home over 3 years ago. Love what I do!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome Janet. Great way to age positively, yeah?
