I'm sorry, how many weeks are there til Christmas?
Apparently there are only nine more Saturdays until Christmas.
This shocks me and sends me into a complete and utter panic.
Not because of the Christmas shopping I haven't started.
Not because we are hosting Christmas this year for the extended family and haven't even thought about how we're going to do that.
Not because we host a Christmas party for 80 people every year which is now only 8 Saturdays away.
But because all the things I had planned to have finished and achieved this year have not come to fruition.
There is a shite load of maintenance work to be done around the home plus this was supposed to be the year for new carpet.
I have a bunch of projects that I was going to have completed with major goals to have scored and very few are where I'd hoped they would be.
There are all these deadlines that are fast approaching with very little to present.
Holy crap!
There are only 9 more Saturdays until Christmas.
NINE!!
Better get cracking so I can get some results with this one.
Are you in a spin that the end of year is near?
Oh yes I can so relate. This year has flown by. I've had a lot happen and most of it good stuff.... but there were (are?) so many things on my 'to do' list I've not yet started or achieved it's bloody depressing.
ReplyDeleteOn a positive note (rare for me) I've still got 9 weeks....
Haha Yep. That was my after thought two. Got a hell of a lot to do, but hey, let's do it. We can sleep when we're dead ... or at Christmas ... whichever comes first. LOL.
DeleteThis has inspired my post for Denyse today!
DeleteThis news brings a pang of anxiety. There is so much to fit into that time too! Just got to hang on for the ride now and let it happen, one day at a time :) I have to love Deborah's comment, I still have nine weeks! x
ReplyDeleteThink of it this way, you can get new carpet after all of those epic Christmas parties (80 people!). That way you don't have to worry about spills. Meanwhile I better get my butt in gear. There's only 8 posting weekends left to Christmas and no presents have been bought yet.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, that's one of my favourite quotes. Douglas Adams was a genius. And we need to get new carpeting once our bathroom reno is finished- it's a huge hassle isn't it? I mean I think you have to take all the furniture out of the house. Dreading it!
ReplyDeleteThe year has flown for me. I can't believe that Christmas is so close!! I need to start doing some shopping pronto!
ReplyDeleteGuess what...only you know about the carpet and all the others stuff you think should have been done...oh, and your readers now...! I think that you will thrive on this having Christmas at home because it's close to your heart! Thanks for linking up today...and next week is about the Melbourne Cup..just letting you know LOL. D xx
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's so close! We hosted 3 years ago so we have a break for about 3 more Xmases which is good! Trust me with the lure of delicious food and drinks nobody will notice your carpet, plus you don't want them eating and drinking on your lovely new carpet anyway!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I feel exactly the same way Leanne! It honestly seems like the year just started - where did all the time go????
ReplyDeleteThis year...oh, this year. I'm not sure where it's gone!
