Day 2708 - It's time for a Wellness Wednesday check in

How's your health and fitness been this week?

Usually I use Wednesday's to gloat about my fit and fabulous achievements.  Or at least try and illustrate that we can all make little changes to take control of our wellness.

Not this Wednesday.  I sit here typing this with back pain, head pain, neck and shoulder pain.  My health is challenging me and impacting on all aspects of my life.  Damn fibromyalgia!

Anyway, it is what it is and sometimes we've just got to be kind to ourselves.

Here's my weekly report:


Weekly achievements:  

  • 20km of walking 
  • 40 situps 
  • 80 leg raises
  • 20 pushups
  • 40 dips
  • Stretching and flex
  • 15 minutes of dance
Weekly challenges:
  • Feeling "poorly" 
  • Lost my walking buddy as she flitted off to Hong Kong for a week.
Weekly reflection:
  • It was a difficult week full of excuses.  


Weekly achievements:
  • Thought about what I ate and planned for success. 
  • Practised mindfulness 
  • drank 12 litres of water
Weekly challenges:
  • A birthday dinner at an all-you-can-eat buffet which included way too many dessert choices
  • An afternoon tea with friends that also included cake.
Weekly reflection:

I notice that I am becoming more mindful of what I am eating rather than simply eating everything in sight. 

Fabulous Mindset

Weekly achievements:
  • Managed to kick a few goals and keep my head above water
  • Feeling good about the new fit and fabulous direction
Weekly challenges:
  • Separation anxiety as my daughter went overseas for a few days.  
  • Was having some issues with lack of resilience. 
  • Fibromyalgia pain and a tummy bug are messing with my head. 
Weekly reflection:

I had to really look at myself and my emotions and dig deep into the self awareness last week.  

Intentions for next week:
  • Be kind to myself
  • Focus on my family
  • Fit in exercise where possible, but give myself permission to take a short break.

Wellness Wednesday is a chance for us all to reflect on the choices we make in our lives.  Ageing positively is a choice.  We can either let life happen to us or we can create our lives through targetted and mindful choices.
