Day 2825 - My author appearance at Aussie Gold Cheer and Dance Championships

Three cheers for cheerleaders

Every year I attend the Aussie Gold Cheer and Dance International Championships as both an author and vendor to share Cheer Chick Charlie with those who haven't discovered her yet and to catch up with my fans who wait patiently for each new book.

Being around the kids who inspire me and keep me motivated to write is the best energy renewal tool ever.

It's one thing to be an author at a desk writing about the characters you hold dear, but nothing beats hanging out with your readers and absorbing their excitement and wondrous state of kidnom.

I'm not going to lie. While I seem very positive and action oriented, there are times when my belief starts to waiver.

While it appears I've achieved a great deal as a self published author with Cheer Chick Charlie, there's still a whole lot more I need to get done.

My dreams for this particular endeavor are not fully realised yet.

It's times like these that I feel that I need a cheerleader in my corner.  Someone to motivate, inspire and cheer me on.

Luckily for me I have them in spades.  Real life cheerleaders who, with just one smile, can keep me moving forward.

So it's with much enthusiasm and renewed energy that I share a few of my fans with you.

There's a fair bit of energy around Charlie right now from book signings, to renewed distribution discussions, to publisher chats and even some whispers about TV.  I'm not sure where any of it might lead yet - it could go somewhere or it could go nowhere - either way, my little energy injection session with these gorgeous people is helping me to believe in the possibilities again.

Thanks cheerleaders. You're really good at what you do.

Do you have a cheer squad in your life?

Who encourages you to keep moving forward?

Anyone else in need of an energy injection session?

  1. It must be such a great energy boost to go and talk to your readers!
